All you SE Deuce owners... Did the 04 SE Deuce come with a Gold Key and CVO cover? Have a freiend buying one and the original owner claims he never recieved a cover or key from H/D.

For sure it should have come with a cover. CVO's since at least 2001 came with them. Key is another thing. Not sure when HD started the key thing. It was after 2003 I believe. Someone here will know the answer. He can get one made for the princely sum of $85 if he so wishes.

Ditto here, my 03 SE came with the cover but not the gold keys and case.  I did a little research and found out that the keys were actually tied to the dealers as based on their rep with HD factory in terms of volume of sales or something like that.  Thats why some got em and some don't.

Imho, the only link to the dealer would be their honesty.

Sure hope they didn't try to upsell these items to you?

From what I recall, in 2003, for the SED, the Key was not listed on the features sheet.

The original thread starting question was about a 2004 SED, which we all agree absolutely came with the Key, Case, and Cover. It's documented. Further, I know a 2003 SED owner who received the same. Reply #4 above stated the same for his 2003, so I think we've pretty well confirmed that all of the SED's came with these extra items. Those who didn't, have a beef with the original dealer. However, that's pretty fair in the past at this point.

Agree...if it should have been part of the package...but I have to admit, I would have caught this if it really was missing.  Back in 2003, there was something called a Gold Key Package...but I know we are not confusing this.  My 2004 SEEG did have a Gold Key but no Box...since then, my 2006, 2008 and 2010 included a Box for the key...even the list for 2003 I could dig up does not mention the key:
