O2 sensor color
« on: April 23, 2009, 12:51:14 PM »

I just pulled the O2 sensors out as I'm changing my header pipes and muffs, and the front one was partially black and dark grey.  The rear one was a little bit dark grey, but mostly white/light grey.  Any concerns here?  I did notice that the front gasket was a bit "eaten" on one side, but no signs of exhaust leak.
Also when I inserted the new flat gaskets into the ports, I did scuff one of them as I pushed in the last part held up by the edge.  Should I be concerned, or will the new pipe "squash" it as I tighten it so as not to worry?
Thanks,
