I need to change my opinion for the HD Store of Baltimore. Great people to buy a bike from but their service department sucks. When you go there all they want to do is thank you for comming. All I want them to do is do the work I'm paying for and do it right the first time.

I have an 08 and the seat has split at the tip where it meets the tank, on the under side, just like the pic posted...they are replacing the seat at about 9000 miles...anyone else had problems with the 08 seats...?

here we go! i just picked up the seat. the MOCO finally came thru. the seat is a replacement for the original seats, on the CVO ultra. my dealer showed me that the old part number, now says obsolete and the new part number says 09-A. and it has been upgraded around the brim of the pan. shouldn't have anymore problems.

I had the seat tear and had mine replaced on Friday and then did two 8 hour days in the saddle with my gf, and both our butts were sore...which is different than with our original seat...I don't remember a break-in period with the last seat but maybe I have just repressed it....I assume theses are basically the same seats...do they need to break-in and i have just forgot about the past pain i endured.
Also, my gf is about 5.8 and is moving her legs all over the place after an hour or two...we have the passenger boards in the lowest position but it is not enough leg room...can anyone tell me what some remedies might be...we leave for an 1800 mile trip to New Orleans on June 8th so any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

My Ruby 09 seat has not torn, yet, but I can see how it happens.  Pull the seat off and reinstall it and you can feel it catch right at the tear spot.  Agree it's a poor design, just like the rubber oil lines in front of the oil cooler.

Since were on the subject of seats, I put the passenger hand rails and covers on.  They look real nice, but wife's legs hit them? Our 09 CVO seat must be radically different from the stock 09 seats.  So I think I'm gonna have to ditch the stock CVO skunk stripe seat and replace it with...that's my new question.  Has anyone installed the SeaRay Heated Seat?  Looks like a stock ultra (non-cvo) seat.  Getting ready for our cross contry trip and I have a frustrated wife.  See wants the 05 Ultra back.

Some of us guys can't win for losing.

Ride safe!

If you don't get the new seat with the new part number I'm sure it will rip down the road.

Has anyone tried to make the Road Zeppelin fit the FLHTCUSE4?  Had it on my FLHTCSE2 and absolutely loved it, but haven't tried to make it fit my FLHTCUSE4 (yet).

I purchase my bike at the HD Store of Baltimore. Great sales but a real bad service department.

well, i had a saddleman road sofa, on my 05 seeg2. it was great for the long haul. i thought it would fit on my new 09 seuc4, dah! totally different. in the closet it goes. maybe someone out there wants it. anyway, i'm still looking for a really confrtable seat, for the new ride. something that offers a higher back area, like the old saddleman did. any ideas?????

Well we'll find out this weekend.  I just ordered the Sun Ray Heated Seat, HD PN 52633-08, and the King tour Pak Backrest Pad, HD PN 52395-03.  I installed the passenger hand rails and covers this past weekend.  They look great, however, the 09 CVO seat is so different from the standard Ultra that the wifes' legs ride on them.  Yep - I got a nice lecture on how uncomfortable it is.  So the fix - a new seat.

Harpmr - HD said the Zepplin wouldn't work on the 09's.  No one actually tried it though.

Makes me wonder why I bought a CVO - saddle bag rails, new exhaust, PC-V, stage 1 and more chrome. Could have bought two Goldwings!

Ride Safe!

Seems like if you removed the "tongue" on the Road Zeppelin (that fit into the frame) and cut a small hole in the bottom of the Road Zeppelin for the frame "tongue" it would fit, but I haven't tried it yet.  The Road Zeppelin is far superior to the FLHTCUSE4's seat for those 700+ mile days.
