Another Radio Option
« on: October 31, 2005, 01:07:07 PM »

I found this on Ebay today.  I don't know anything about the seller or the product, but I thought it looked promising.  I would think for those that want XM but not the CB that this would be a cheaper option than the new HK radio.  I do know this unit has aux inputs in the back for XM or an Ipod, but if you want both you need to add an aux unit controller, and I don't know how big that is.

Water, the link seems to be a bit fracked.  At least right now.  A quick search on eBay under "harley XM" didn't bring any current listings up except for units that would be handlebar mounted or the Advanced Audio stuff.  From the text in the link, however, I think it's an ad that I've seen before when wondering what some options might be.

Was a seller bundling together a Sony radio and a Biketronics radio adaptor and the XM hardware.  All good stuff actually.  And certainly less expensive then the HD alternative with the new radio.  Only downside were that (at least personally) I really didn't care for the look of the physically smaller Sony radio and a black filler plate filling out the hole in the dash and the radio itself really isn't as rain or garden hose resistant as the factory radio.

Somebody bought it with the buy it now option.  But, yes it was the packaged up deal.  It did not inlcude the XM antenna/reciever, but is XM ready.  I agree on the look of the radio not fitting in the stock location.

Just click on the view sellers other items for sale and you will see he is selling one right now. I agree though, cheaper alternative if you did have to replace, but looks a little out of sorts. Who can tell me how to hook up an Ipod to the existing CD player in the 04?

Male to male 1/8" audio cable to the aux jack on the front of the radio from the headphone jack on the player.  Car cord to the lighter plug if you want to play longer than the batteries last.
