When I got the bike back the oil level was actually on the low side, down at the bottom of the cross hatch area and I have been driving it like that, usually I keep the level at about 3/4 with no noticeable drips before. I changed the oil today and only got out about 2 1/2 quarts including the filter and put about 3 1/4 quarts back in to bring it up to the 3/4 mark area. Service manual says 4 quarts with a filter change but I have never gotten that much out or in. I noticed also that the Ultra service manual says 4 quarts and the SE service manual says 4 quarts too but what about the oil cooler on the SE ? That must hold a half quart or so. And has anyone figured out a way to get the dirty oil out of the cooler when doing a oil change ? I was thinking a air blow gun in the passages after the oil filter was removed but I didn't want to take an oil bath

Why doesn't the oil that gets pushed into the air filter area get sucked into the motor ? Don't the rocker covers have any baffles in them so only the oil fumes get pushed through and not the actual oil itself ? You would think that after making bikes for 100 years this wouldn't be an issue.
I'm not sure if the stealer replaced the rings and honed the cylinders or not but if the assembly they did on my bike is any indication they probally didn't. The mechanic that worked on it was to say the least an idiot. I got the bike back with parts missing, which I ended up getting back and putting on myself, chemically stained lower fairing doors, which they have ordered new ones to replace and a chemically stained gas tank which they have ordered a new replacement.
I'll try to get a few more miles on it (of course it's supposed to shower all week now) and see what it looks like again after that.
Hopefully my replacement SE air cleaner, thats on a recall will be in by then and I can swap it out.
