Dave
You just have to get that Hog pod painted. It is goin to bother me all summer if you dont
I talked to 2 different painters tonight. One told me that he would match it, but it would take him some time to get it perfect. The other didn't seem to believe me that he isn't going to be able to find the formula for the paint. He told me he's got the formulas for every Harley color through the 90's and up to 2007. He said he will see what he can find and let me know what he finds out. If I do it, I'll likely go with the first guy, since he's a very good friend and I know how much time he spent matching my neighbor's 07 SEUC. He did a beautiful job on that one. I also know that he won't do it unless he knows he can make it look perfect. He also told me that if I wanted the letters painted on the rear of the tourpack, I should wait until he has a good color match, and he'll give me enough paint to give to the other guy I talked to, as he said there's nobody better around at doing freehand painting.
Now remember though, I didn't really go out of my way to seek out info on painting the pod. I drove the first guy to the HOG meeting tonight and the other guy is the Asst Director of the chapter. So what that means is I'm not necessarily saying that I'm going to have it painted, but if my friend Dave comes up with a good match for me, maybe sometime soon. He told me he'll get with me about matching the color when he gets back from Myrtle Beach.
You guys can quit having a panic attack. I'm at least open to the idea. One thing I haven't seen yet is anyone with the Ruby Red color having anything painted to match yet. For the 09 SEUC's, all I've seen is Chips bike with all of the colors being matched for the trailer and the match on the pod, and the lettering on the tourpack. Anyone out there have any success with matching the Ruby yet? As far as the autumn haze/high octane orange, I haven't seen much representation at all on this site in comparison with the other colors.
