Today we took a 160 mile dayride to the Badlands. This area in the plains was and still is created by erosion, to the tune of 1 inch a year. Luckily we had a pleasant 75 degree day, although windy, always windy on the plains. In summer it runs around 100+ in Badlands National Park.

After our ride we had a fantastic meal at a place called Manervas. I had a 12 oz Buffalo Ribeye with a pepper sause glaze and baked potato  :2vrolijk_21: Out of this world!!

About 50 miles into our ride we came upon road work that put us on a 300 ft section of loose dirt road detour. The jackass in the pilot car was driving about 45 mph! We took it slow and luckily we didn't have all our gear onboard at the time. This guy on the Bummer, I mean Beemer or what ever you call it was riding in front of us. Is it just me or are these Beemer riders just unfriendly as a rule? We had to wait for the pilot car with this guy, we were nice said hi, but he turned his head and ignored us as we sat waiting to go.

Maybe he didn't speak English.  :nixweiss: Lucky the section of 'improved road' was only 300ft. and not 3 miles or more.  That's the usual deal out there.    har!  spyder

No tripod, Anne has a camera with stabilization. Almost all of her scenery shots are taken from the bike while we are rollin' down the road!

Thank you for sharing your vacation, we have enjoyed all of your pictures. Some have brought back memories of our travels while others have given us a reason for a new destination.  :bananarock: I'm jealous of the length of time you are able to be on the road.
