HELP - COLD FEET
« on: May 05, 2009, 07:25:32 PM »

i just sold my ultra and fatboy and i'm ready to buy a 09 se r. glide but after reading about all the problems with the 110 ci motors i'm a little nervous. has there been improvements made to the 09's? i'm from indiana and our riding season is short as it is so the last thing i want is to have my my scooter down during riding season.
i'm lookin for a silver bike and not able to locate one in my area for a fair price. i will buy orange if i have too but my fatboy was orange and so i'm looking for a change.
also would like any info you may have about changing the pipes/mufflers for a bit more noise. not too concerned about performance upgrade at this point.
this is my first post on the website so i hope i did it right.
i love the road glide but i don't want issues with a new bike

Welcome to the site glad to have you join us. :2vrolijk_21: So far haven't heard any major problems w/the '09 110ci (but I don't own one). In regards to making them sound better do a search for "fullsac" in the Intake & Exhaust Board and the CVO Roadglide board as many have replaced there baffles w/them and are happy w/the change. If you want to go a step further you can search for "Cat Removal" in the Intake & Exhaust Board and the CVO Roadglide board. There are plenty of threads existing speaking of both of these modifications. Good luck on finding the bike/color you want.

What part of Indiana?  If you're near the northwest corner of the state, the dealer in Crete, Illinois (just across the border) has an orange and black on the showroom floor, and it's a good dealership.  I haven't seen a silver around this area so far.

Call Classic in  Reading Pa or American Classic in Corning NY they are sister store and have a Silver SERG3 available at each.

Corning may even waive the frieght and set up for a straight MSRP deal.

Welcome to the family! Your in for a treat, and a wallet draining experience.
As for the 2009 CVO bikes, I was with 8 of them this past weekend and they are far better than the '07 and '08 offerings. Yes they are still hot, but that is easily fixed. If the economy was better I wouldn't hesitate to trade in, the SERG is one Bad A$$ Bike. You should get it and Pi$$ me off.  :) :)

yo 2B, I am the proud owner of one of those Silver SERG, actually, Mine is the one and only Grey Ghost.
I have 7k on mine and runs great, Yes there are some small issues, I like to call Mods. I do it to every H-D I've bought. Pipes, A/C, Fuel Management. Beyond that, anything I did was a ME factor.
I know of 3 sliver SERGs that are available new. All from Boswell's H-D in Nashville TN, about 7 hours for you
