SERT DYNO Run for "WaterMelon"
« on: November 03, 2005, 11:13:22 PM »

Just got home from Earl Small's H-D here in Atlanta after a dyno tune for the  "WaterMelon".  I added the SE air cleaner and the SE Pro Slip on mufflers.  I have attached the dyno chart for everyones review and comment.  The SoP Dyno (seat of pants) says Improvement and the dyno agrees.  I had expected a little closer to 100/100 but 90/95 is still not to bad.  I will post the SERT MAP when I get a good copy.  My laptop could not read the diskette they provided with the MAP.

Number seem a tad low most bike with those mods would be closer to 100 than 90.  Did they tune it on the dyno or just load a map that was in the sert.  I have been told that the sert does not have maps for an 06 iy an EPA thing.

This was a dyno tune using the SERT to tune.  There are NO "pre-map" for any 06 CVO in the SERT (see attached pdf) and from what I was told by the MoCo there won't be any.  Only custom maps via dyno tune.  I was expecting 100/100 because of results posted here.  I did not get to talk to the tech because he was already gone when I picked up the bike.  I am wondering if the new injectors and throttle body are causing the lower numbers.  The new injectors are 3.91 gm/sec vs 4.35 gm/sec from last year.  I am not a trained wrench so this is only speculation on my part.  Any and all comments are welcome and appreciated.

The $999.99 question(s):

1) Can you tell the difference when you ride it vs. before having the Exhaust, High Flow & Dyno work done?

2) Does it put a smile on your face when you get on it?

I bet I know your response, ride it and enjoy it

Look at the Dyno Sheet.  The #'s are at STD, not SAE and the smoothing is on 5.  That combination is typically 90 hp and 99-100 tq on a good day.  I wouldn't worry about it.

I don't understand when you say there is no "pre map" in the SERT for 06 when it looks like "31" on the index clearly has a 103 and is for Touring bikes. Can you clarify for me?

Yukla95-I don't see any listed there for a CVO bike.  #31 is for a Touring bike that has had the 103 upgrade from a 88..  From another website that lists the SERT mappings, the CVO bikes were listed seperately.  Maybe someone else can explain it better, but that's my take.

I'm getting ready to do this same upgrade on my melon using the map that comes with the SERT as mentioned by FR8TRN in another thread.  Were you ever able to read your custom SERT map?  Would be interesting to see how it compares to what the moco sends out.  Be interested if available.

I think the problem on the '06 CVO map, GeaserGlide, is that the map list you posted is for version 4.5.0 of the SERT.  The SERT I picked up last month is version 4.5.2, and like FR8TRN's SERT, does include a map for the '06 SEU.  Not sure how it might compare to what your tuner ended up with.

While the numbers do look lower, with the smoothing cranked up to 5 and the numbers not SAE corrected, it's hard to tell how they look compared to other charts which have been posted, as One Screamin' Eagle notes.  Relative to other bikes, I suspect you're not down much, if at all.

I ordered the pcIII from jeffj buddy Freedom Cycle. Seems to be great people to do business with [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif], haven’t received it yet but it should be here at the end of the week.  Jeff hope you are right about the kick in the pants with this mod…I am doing Rineharts SE air filter and the PCIII.

Bubba,

Sounds good, did you get Freedom Cycles to load my mapping in the PCIII, that they sent you?
Not sure how the mapping will be since you will be using the Rinehardts & not Freedom exhaust
Keep me in the loop on how the scooter performs

Anyone have a  PCIII map for 06 SEUC with Screamin Eagle slip-ons and Screamin Eagle air cleaner. Best I got was 93 torque at 3900 and 90 hp at 5500. Dyno was set to SAE Smoothing 3.  I think she's got more in her.

You may want to consider cutting the baffles in the slip ons 50%.  In the past, its' made a significant difference.
