Unexpected side effect of my new SERG
« on: May 12, 2009, 08:55:53 AM »

Well, something happened that I never expected.  I have been riding a Night Rod for two years now and have loved every second of it.  It is fast and loves the twisties.  I started taking longer trips so I thought maybe I should get a touring bike.  After all the research, here and elsewhere, I decided on the SERG.  I figured I would use the SERG just for longer trips and keep the Night Rod around to run around town and commute to work, 18 miles.  Of course after getting the SERG the Night Rod just sat in the garage as my co-workers wanted to see the new bike, etc.  I have only put about 300 miles on the SERG now.  Today I decided to ride the Night Rod into work and the strangest thing happened.  I did not like it.  It felt so tiny but clumsy at low speeds.  I felt like I was all scrunched up on it.  I can not believe that the ride that I loved could be destroyed so quickly by the SERG.

Bottom line - if you are on the fence about buying a SERG, do it!

Anyone want to buy a Night Rod?   :P

It's like night and day isn't it? My tricked out Fat Boy just sits in the garage and gives me the stink eye whenever I take the SERG out. I try not to look his way but I do feel a little guilty sometimes. I know he needs to stretch his legs every once in a while but how do I make time for him when there's only so many riding hours in a day? At least now he sits with a Granite Digital battery conditioner/maintainer so his heart keeps beating (constant 13.6). Oh well, sorry Fatso...

The Titan is still good for warm days and short trips....  Did 390 miles in a day, once.  Never again!

Y'all are killing me!!  I am 3 days from picking mine up and going NUTS!!   :anxious:

I am SO stoked to get on 'er & RIDE! I am picking it up in Seattle on Friday, riding to Spokane on Saturday (300 miles), then to Pendleton OR on Sunday (200 miles). Then back to Seattle on Tuesday (300 miles). So with any luck, I'll have 800 miles on it within the first few days!  :bananarock:
Just sucks I gotta treat it like a lady while she breaks in...  :'(
But after that, she's gonna get rode like she deserves!  :pepper: :pimp:
