Well as we were about to ride out into the overcast skies, HML was reviewing the cooking options and getting ready to eat some fine vittles!

As we pulled away it was a short ride to our first stop…a gas stop for a few of the riders.  Even at the gas stop poor Rudolph was not allowed to join in the reindeer games as he has a six gallon tank.

But I go in there to take a closer look…

See what I mean about those CVO Road Glides?

Our second stop was in Tellico Plains, TN as the base of the Cherohola Parkway.

The town is located on the Tellico River near the location where the river emerges from the higher peaks of the Appalachian Mountains and into the less rugged Ridge-and-valley Appalachians.

The Cherohala Skyway is a 43-mile National Scenic Byway that connects Tellico Plains, Tennessee, to Robbinsville, North Carolina in the southeastern United States.  The skyway gains over 4,000 feet in elevation and it got cold at the high past for a few mintues…a less for me.

I am uncertain if Tbone got a lashing from the group for allowing me into the pack but I thank him and call him brother.

After the 43 mile ride it was time to stop at the newest addition in Robbinsville since I was there last time.

It is here that you can find your Dragon Fuel which is right up the road but was not taken this day.

Deals Gap is a popular and internationally famous destination for driving enthusiasts (of motorcycles and sports cars), as it is located along a stretch of two-lane road known as "The Dragon" or the Tail of the Dragon. The 11-mile stretch of the Dragon in Tennessee contains 318 curves. Some of the Dragon's sharpest curves have names like Copperhead Corner, Hog Pen Bend, Wheelie Hell, Killboy Corner, Mud Corner, Sunset Corner, Gravity Cavity, Beginner's End, and Brake or Bust Bend. The road segment earned its name from its curves resembling the shape of the "Dragon".

North meets South…

“Was that fun or what?  Yeah I know it was my 100th time on this road but it never gets old!”
