I really like the look of the red/black 07's....BUT.... the 110 engine has me concerned. I guess that if I am able track one down through a dealer, I can get an extended warranty?? I realize forums are often a place that a few complain a lot and it makes something seem worse than it actually is. But the 07's are still a bunch of money and I question my better judgement (why pay a bunch of money for a "headache"). Am I nuts to even consider an 07?

I traded in my 110" 2007 SE Road King about an hour ago and couldn't be happier.  The motor is a bad design.  I went thru hell, and I had a 7 year warranty.

If you love the paint scheme go for it, if you just want the creature features then go for an 09.   I know Ocala had one for sale.   If I can help you out with any background info's on the 07 or the motor issues send me a pm happy to lend a hand I had an 07 Orange and Black and lots of the issues described in many of the threads.

I appreciate the offer. Might take it up as I get closer. I think I might wait to see what 2010 has to offer (SE Street Glide, maybe?). The reason I brought up the question was Seminole has a real nice looking 07 with what I consider all the right extras done to it. But I will pass on that one and just wait. I actually have some patience.

I am the original owner of a 2007 SE Ultra with the 110. I now have a little over 15,000 miles, once I had the factory updates done, no problems. I did have my bike dyno tuned. The bike runs strong, does not run hot anymore and I forsee no more problems. I did buy the 7 year warranty, just in case. I also like the leather tourpack, I think the 07's look a bit more "custom" and streamlined, personal taste i guess.  You can save a ton of cash buying a 07, if money's not a issue, buy a 09 or newer, I do like the 2009 frame. I won't consider selling mine until they come out with a water cooled high performance engine powering the touring line.

I bought an 07 SE Ultra with the 110. The original owner traded in on a 2009 SE Ultra.
It had all the updates completed when I bought it. It had 11K on it then, Jan 09. Coming up on 15K now with no problems so far. Wouldn't hesitate to do it again. As long as you know the dealer and can check the bike's background I would think you would be OK. just my 2.
