FLHTCUSE License Plate Option
« on: May 20, 2009, 08:13:00 PM »

I hear of folks talking about a Kuryaken rounded plate holder, but can not find the part number.
Also, saw a solution that may work from Softbrake.
I'd like to clean up the rear of the bike - maybe put the plate where the silly reflector is beneath the turnsignals - thanks!

The HDI models come with the plate down there where the reflector is, so there are MoCo parts to do that (and not expensive!). The plate illumination is provided by an LED light that fits <invisibly> into the underside of the turn signal bar, and the plate mounts on a bracket that bolts to the same two holes in the turn signal bar that your silly reflector is fixed to.  See pic.  (Don't worry about the even sillier refelctor shown there - it's a separate part to the plate mount and does not need to be there!)

PS: When you move it there, please can I have your silly reflector??  :)

No chance you would have the HD part number?

Nope - I thought it was the same as the FLHTCSE one, but I don't think it is.  But anybody with a CUSE4 parts manual will be able to tell you the items you need. (I'd expect just the plate bracket and the LED light - maybe the wiring is separate though. (Plugs into the socket inside the rear light housing - that's there on domestic and HDI bikes, so not a problem for you).

When I had this done on my '05 SEEG it was not that cheap. Cost me more than 600 Euros to get this nice "bracket".

Yes, but 1) You bought it in Europe. not from Zanotti!  and 2) you needed everything - he doesn't as I said, just the bracket and the light.

Even if you buy the whole kit - what I guess you bought, 53702-04 - now with an A suffix, it's only $194 from Zanotti today, and it was cheaper then! You get the whole shooting match for that, Bullet Turnsignals and bar, light, bracket, chrome fender tip, and a "decroative trim".  I suspect $20 or $30 will buy both parts he needs.

I finally got of my butt and went out to the garage and got the box.  Mine is called: Deluxe Bullet Light Rear Turn Signal Bar Kit.  The box says Kit 3000 and fits 97 and up FLHT Standard, FLHR, FLHRS, and FLTR.

My kit included light bar with bullet turn signals, license plate bracket, and trim piece for the original plate location.

Hope this helps.

One more thing.  You can buy each of those pieces seperate or in the kit like I got.  All depends on what all you want.
