My SERG has swirl marks and seems to scuff very easily. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same issues, the clearcoat seems very soft.

Doesn't seem to be a problem here.  What color?

Orange and Black, seems like everytime I touch it, it leaves fine scratches in the clearcoat.

No issues with my O/B other than the orangepeel, the clear coat seems to be holding up fine.

My yellow had a bit of orange peel on the back edge of the fairing.

ANd I was thinking the same thing about the swirls... the tops of my bags are already "swirly" after 4 days/1100 miles.  :nixweiss:

My O/B is smooth and is holding up fine. You must have a odd case of crappyclearitis... :drink:

Im picking up my O/B tomorrow. I did notice some orange peel on the saddle bags. Can I have them spray a few coats of clear and the wetsand?

It ain't that simple, dealers don't do no paintin.Just be sure to use a clean or better yet a new microfiber cloth only, everytime you rub on it.

Clear on mine has never cured, it is very soft ( I have paint / bodywork background) something is wrong. Bugs stain it, but will easily come out, if you remove them the same day with a swirl remover product on orbital. Dealer has no clue. I do find humor in above comment about "spraying a couple coats clear", made me smile. No offense, maybe your dealer has a paint dept with $50,000 downdraft spray booth with heat and a complete PPG Mixing station (HD Paint is PPG) and a qualifed painter, maybe my dealer is just behind.....

Actually "them" is my painter who does have a PPG mixing station. He would'nt charge much and maybe i can get the dealer to pay for it. He just painted my RK bags for $200 and they look better than anything that came out of the factory.

I thought I was dreaming about the paint scuffing easy.  It seems that if you touch the saddlebag with a sole of a shoe when getting off that it leaves a mark, much easier than other bikes that I have had.

The guy who painted a set of saddlebags for $200 is loosing his ass. A pint of mixed pearl/candy/base/clear as most of our bikes have is VERY expensive. And when you add the hardner, thinner/tape and sandpaper, sealer, labor etc. The cost in this day and age is just amazing. If he spent 2 hours sanding/sealing/taping, then 1 hour painting +  then another hour + to color sand and buff + his cost of the materials, he probably only lost about $150 - $200. You need to be a GOOD friend of his, who is going to make up his loss someother way (word of mouth, sending him work, had another job that actually paid or something) Otherwise it makes no sense, why loose money? A set of bags, painted, buffed and reassembled should run at least $500 if the guy wants to make a living and that is if no bodywork is required.

sounds about right. plus, add$ for tricky designs.
the reason the O/B scratches easy, as the yellow owners can tell you, is from the dust that settles on it when riding. Now the Silver, on the otherhand, is not affected as it goes tooooo fast for the dust to settle.  :2vrolijk_21:
