2009 Road Glide CVO pricing
« on: May 28, 2009, 01:12:24 PM »

I am looking at purchasing a 2009 Road Glide CVO.  As they all sticker at $31,000, I was wondering if anyone had information or opinions on a fair market price.  There are several for sale in my area and I obviously want as much information as possible.  I apologize if this thread has been answered elsewhere, I could't seem to find it.  Thanks in advance for any help.

Not completely sure I understand the question.  But here goes:

"Sticker" is set by the factory and is the same nationally with one potential variation; the "California" emissions package.  So no variation in the "sticker" price.

Different dealers may try to charge other than sticker price.  Some try to charge more.  Some might take less.  Some will vary on their delivery and set-up charges.  All of that will be part of your comparison shopping with dealers within whatever your travel range is.

Thanks, I was looking for what other's had paid or heard of.  This is a non-California bike.  As other models are going for as much as 20% less than sticker, I wanted to know what an appropriate range was.  I'm not expecting to pay $25K but I'm not expecting to pay full sticker either.  Thanks again for any help.

A fair price would be MSRP nothing more. What you see on the Harley website as MSRP.
That was my goal.....mission accomplished.

I know that some dealers are $1000 below list.  There appear to be quite a few SE Road Glides in the market.  In San Antonio alone there are four for four dealers and no Ultra's.

Took a 2,000 mile ride to northern New Mexico and eastern Arizona, and every dealer had a SE Road Glide for sale.  Thunderbird in Alb, NM had two on the floor.

List price on the SERG would be a fair deal- nothing more- the thing to watch out for is dealer prep fees, doc fees & add ons- they can vary a lot from one to the next. Make sure when you compare prices that you get all the numbers. good luck

Not wanting to rebut my last, I was actually referring to Ultras, our dealer is having a hard time moving the SERG don't really know why it's a beautiful scoot.

I would not go over MSRP how is that.

It sounds like everyone would agree that $29K for a $31.3 sticker is fair in this market?

Maybe I am confused, MSRP and sticker are 2 different things. If 28 is less then or equal to MSRP yes it is a fair deal.
I have seen dealers in Daytona sticker an Ultra out at $48,000. Not trying to be funny it's true.

I think in today's economy you will get what you want for a trade and a good deal on a new bike.

You want the bike and they want to sell you one....it is a buyers market right now.

Most dealers are selling at retail (and a few crazy ones still trying to sell over retail), so if you can get one for $29K, go for it!

I have not heard of many SERG's selling new below MSRP, or sticker.  Many are going for that, with no add on for set up, prep or documantation.

In my area, there are no SERG's to be had from what I have seen, all sold before they hit the floor.  SMHD did have on on the floor but that for less than five days and they did not know they were getting it.  Another dealer had wanted a root beer ultra so it was a swap.

At this point in the model year, you will be lucky to even find a SERG or a SEUC still on a dealer floor.  The MoCo has shipped the last of them early this month, and there will be no more 2009 CVO bikes produced.  If you find one on a floor, MSRP is pretty much as low as you can expect to pay.  Negotiable items include things like accessories, service plans, and dealer prep fees.

Good Luck!

Out here, almost every dealer has a SERG on the floor (some have more than one)...haven't seen any with SEUCs though.  :-\

Just noticed two on the floor at Shenandoah H-D (Staunton Va.) today. An O/B and S/B... sales person was doing their best to get me to trade my :pumpkin: in on it.
