two point to four point detachable bracket
« on: June 02, 2009, 01:11:44 PM »

I remember reading somewhere (Cannot find the thread) that the backrest that came with the SERG(2 point) will not work on the 4 point system that I have to use for the tour pak. I was told by a friend that it will work but I remember reading that it will not work. My tour pak is being shipped and I want to know if I have to order another system to use when the tour pak is not on the bike and I want the stock backrest.

My stock passenger backrest is presently on my bike along with the 4 point system. Also I have a rack on the bike. No problem.

Rob, as you can see, the back rest attaches to the top of the shock absorber and the "points" on the stock, two-point docking system.  When you remove the two point set up and install the four, the backrest fits the same way using the front two "points."  The tour pak fit on the four points and does not use the shock.  Maybe the pic will help.

The sissy bar that comes with the SERG works fine with the 4 point docking hardware.  As soon as I finish eating my lunch, I will go to the garage and take a picture of it.  It is raining, so the beast is in the garage.   >:(

I like the fact that I will be able to run a rack  and sissy bar when the tour pak is removed.

Man that yellow sure is sweet--- one of each color would be great :huepfenjump3:

Yes and sorry, Klaus.  I've seen your billboards.  Our California (and I think all U.S.) plates are only 5 x 7 inches.

(12.7 x 17.8 centimeters)

Man
I love the clean look of the US version. Greg that really cleans it up back there. Gets rid of the license plate light and all.
Well done

There is an LED in the top of the licence plate.  It's a Kuryakyn part.
