Battery
« on: June 05, 2009, 07:46:08 AM »

Has anyone had a problem with starting the bike after a couple of days of not starting it? I have the alarm system and the garage door opener set I wonder if that is draining my battery some how or do I just have a bad battery.

Do you tender?

The 09's have a lot of electrical things pulling off that battery, If you don't tender, you might think about it  :2vrolijk_21:

A bike that  "had a problem with starting the bike after a couple of days " has an electrical issue and should be checked.

I'm a firm believer in battery tenders.

I have 9, 4 on the baggers, 2 on the scooters, 1 on the John Deere, 1 on the Mustang and a spare.

But a bike that doesn't start after sitting a couple days has more issues than a battery tender can solve.

It's under warranty, take it to the shop.

I believe in the tenders also. My old wide glide battery is on it's 5th year and still cranks right up. All because of the tender. Prolly get a new battery next year just because. Anyway I always plug in everytime I park the bikes for the night. You gotta do something when you have to many toys with batteries or you keep buying new batteries every year.

Not sure how old your bike / battery are but it's not normal to run clear down after just a couple of days. I believe in battery tenders too but I'm not as diligent as some. Even my 5 year old battery holds a charge, w/ the alarm and opener, much longer than what you describe.
