bassani slipons
« on: June 05, 2009, 10:14:23 PM »

I put bassani slipons on my serg but left the cats in for now. My mechanic told me that I shouldn't need anything more. He said if it sputters and backfires, then he will remap it. Is he right , or should I get a racetuner and have it mapped? It seems to be running alright.

I have 2 1/4 Fulsac's and the cat. Runs spot on and oil temp averages 190-220. I like the deep rumble but you can still get on it hard and not wake the dead. kind of stealth stop light to stop light. The torque is stronger down low with the cat's restriction and the mufflers opened up. :drink:

I have the Bassani's with the CAT still in and have gone about 2000Kms with the setup and it runs fine. I am thinking of putting the VH power duals on at some point but I am happy with this for now.

You are fine until you you get rid of the Cat.  the cat impeads air flow enought that you will not run any leaner than stock

i have vance & hines power duals with bassani megaphone slip ons and se race tuner. bike has great deep sound, just keeps on pulling through the gears. definetly runs way cooler without the cat.  very pleased with the power sound and way less heat from the pipes.

I put Cobra slipons and my mechanic told me the same thing.  Have about 1700mi on it and have not had significant backfiring or sputtering, but pipes have begun to blue some.  Still have cats too.

Has anyone put on a set of Bassani Flipped Scallop Cut Mufflers on an '09 SERG?  I's like to see a picture of them installed.

Saw an SSERG (the faster SERG) with Cali plates in Paradise Valley during the Winnemucca Run-A-Mucca that had the V&H Power Duals on it.  Anybody know who's it is?

Unfortunately, I don't have any good shots of just the exhaust.   But here are a couple.  They fit the extensions better than it appears in the pics.   The curve of the muffler matches the angle of the bag extension really well.   I like em'.
