Gear Drive Question (another one)
« on: June 07, 2009, 08:11:16 PM »

Should the screws securing the chain guide that was removed because of the gear drive install be reinstalled to block the holes that go all the way through the cam plate?

99-06 touring does not matter
06 Dyna, 07-others you must use the plate included in the gear drive kit to block off the oil passages that feed the hydro tensioners, the screws secure the plate to the cam plate

I guess I should have said the year. It's an 06 with the early style SE cam plate.
So I can either put the two screws back in or leave them out? Leaving them out does not affect anything in the oiling system?

Just leave them out, no effect on the oiling system

10-4, I'll leave them out. That way there is less to fall off. It should be back together today after the dentist gets done moaning about flossing for the hundredth time. Take it easy HD-Dude and thanks for the help!

On the Screaming Eagle cam plate with high flow oil pump; I assume that's a machine fit since there is no where for the O-Ring?

It's getting ready to go on, it's a machine fit.
