That's a long time to wait but you guys will love the new ride. Congratulations ! Do these late shipments mean that they're still being produced ? I read somewhere that they cut CVO model production in half this year.

This is the one before leaving the dealer and starting to splat bugs all over it.  Might be the only time we ever see it this clean.

Let the spending begin!  Congrats from the home of the World Champion Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Penguins.  Had to say it since it's the first time ever for both in one city.

You are right.  The spending began before I even got it.  Left work at 1130 today so I rode 250 miles on the way home (I live 7 miles from work), then after she cooled a bit I installed some stuff I had ordered for it a while back.  Put in the Fulsac 2" cores,  The Harley goodies floorboard extenders, and some custom extended shift levers.  I'm done for a while though.  Just want to ride.  Leaving in two weeks for a 6000 mile vacation on two wheels.  16 days with a 2 day break in the middle.  Looking forward to a good run and riding the Natchez Trace Trail among other things.

Make a stop along the way and get your 1000 mile service done.  If you have gotten an EFI tuner, have a base map installed to richen the mixture up a bit before that trip, and cool that engine down.  Those floorboard extenders will really help out.  I firmly believe that it cuts down on the leg fatigue by keeping your feet on the boards more than just having them on the edges.

I didn't think I could fit the extended shift levers with the lower fairings.  Which ones did you get?  The ones I had on my last bike were from Walter's Workshop and they seemed to be too long to switch over to this bike.

Noticed the comment above about stopping and getting a 1000 mile service done. Have you looked in the owners manual at what a 1k service entails? It is nothing more than a fluid change/check a bunch of stuff. They charge $300 here for this, I recently "observed" the checking part, took the oil change/wash boy about 5 minutes after the oil/trans/pri fluid change to complete the deal, what a rip-off. I will continue to do this myself.

1000 miles?  That trip is two weeks from now.  I should have 1000 miles done by Monday.  I do my own maintenance on my FXD and the Gold Wing but this one I paid for a 3 year dealer service plan.  All service free of additional charge and I can have them change oil every 2500 miles or stick with the factory schedules.  With this plan I get priority service appointments.  They ask 12 hour advance notice, unless a flat or something, but I have just dropped off in the morning to pick up at noon.  I figured the cost of the oil, filters, gaskets and 1, 5, 10, etc. maint schedule on my last service plan and believe me: they are not making any money off it with my putting 15-18 thousand miles a year on this bike, especially since I have them service an extra time  prior to a trip and upon return.  That also includes some of the more pricey maintenance services like the 10K, 20k, and 50k if I get there before the 3 years are done.

I have the same plan, but I think it's only up to the 30K maintenance.  The only problem with it is I am now stuck with this dealer that I'm not all that thrilled with anymore.  After it's done, I purchased a shop manual and I plan on doing my own from then on.
