Arrived at Taxxion yesterday at 9:00am and talked to Mike Hardy about the squeak and front tire tread feathering. He confirmed the noise and said that my bike and Howie's (GH) are the only two HD's that have had a squeak after the AK-20 install. He said that he didn't think the tire wear was related to suspension. He asked if I rode aggressively in turns. Who me? No way!

They pulled the bike in and tore the front forks down and guess what.... No sign of any rubbing anywhere! With the noise it was making I felt sure that there would be signs of two parts rubbing together. The shock oil was as clear as it was 1200 miles ago. No scuff marks, rubbing or polishing.

They had the bike back together by twelve. Mike called my back to the shop and bounced the front end. Squeak was still there! After the tech did a test ride I got on to do the same, bounced the front end, no squeak!
Mike assured me that everything related to the AK-20 install is right, I believe him!
Judy and I headed home about 2:00PM in 95+ heat through the worst traffic I've every ridden in on I-75 and I-20! We stopped at a rest area on I-20 to cool off. The heat was really getting to Judy. She took a towel to the rest room to wet it down and use it to cool off. She came out complaining the the automatic faucets only dispensed warm water. Told her to give it to me. I took it back to the restroom and brought it back and put it around her neck. It was ice cold. She asked me how I got it so cold. Told her I found a fairly clean toilet, dropped the towel in and flushed it a few times! It felt pretty good when she hit me in the back with the towel in question! Finally told her that I wet it in the water fountain!

Any way, when we got home I shut the bike off, bounced the front end and the squeak was back! One good thing about it you can't hear the squeak over the Rineharts!
