Just had my 09 SE Fatbob into the dealer this morning for a SE Pro Super Tuner and a Dyno. Had the work done at Paradise HD in Portland, OR and was very happy with the professionalism of the tech. I was allowed to be there for the whole process. He told me the goal should be to adjust the fuel mixture for good performance and longevity, and hopefully cool it down a bit, and let the horsepower and torque numbers fall where they may. That sounded good to me cause this thing has been burnin' my pants leg off. As expected the engine was running a bit lean (15-16). A target of 14 was the recommended dyno setting for both efficiency and performance. After 5 or 6 runs he had it running just slighty rich at about 13.5 throughout most of the rpm range. At the end he printed out the horsepower and torque curves to be 97 hp and 121 ft-lbs, which were higher than both of us expected. He said he was going to keep my map in his program for the next one that came in. On the way home it ran great. Can't say I noticed a change in power but it definitely ran smoother and cooler, but then it was only about 70 today. Pushed the dipstick button and it showed 227 degrees. I've yet to see anything under 260.
By the way I installed Rush slip-ons with 1.75 inch baffles the night before and they sound great. A nice deep purrrrrrr... No other engine modifications have been made. The tech did notice a catalytic converter in the header but I'm gonna leave it there for now as it would be a real pain to get it out.
