Security System Pager
« on: November 15, 2005, 02:13:18 PM »

I have a 2003 Screamin eagle road king & a 2004 FLHTCSE and 2 of the H.D. security system pagers, both pagers worked fine with both bikes until recently. Then it all happened, both pagers stopped working. When I turn the security system pagers on they will beep or vibrate properly. If the alarm system on either bike is set in the on position, and then set off by movement or ignition turn on. The remote will not respond to inform me that there could be a theft problem. Would anyone have an answer on how to fix these problems? The batteries have been replaced with new ones several times.

Yes do what a few of us have done & throw them out & get the 06 model. I got mine in the mail yesterday , can't wait to fit it. I hope it is as good as I am told.

If these are the old types of pagers, I had the same issues. Replaced batteries, checked/swapped the antennas out and still nothing worked on the pagers. Since I did not get new transmitters, I suspect it's the old transmitter, rather than the pagers, but that's just a guess. I did not try anyone elses pager/transmitters but just did the swap between two of my bikes. I eventually replaced the units with the new H-D pager/siren II set up and so far it works fine. Since warranty on over the counter electrical is 90 days at dealership, it's pretty much become a throw away item. You may try swapping out, and reprogramming the pager to the new transmitter, etc. to see which one failed, etc. Cheap (made in China) system is the problem I think.

I too am having this problem with my pager. All of a sudden it is DOA! Thought it was the battery in pager, but after replacing it, still no detection of system armed. Tried re-synchronizing pager again to transmitter, still DOA. System has been on bike since July 04, going to check with dealer to see if it is covered under extended warranty if it is, I'm going to ask to upgrade to newer system and pay any difference (hopefully the $50.00 deductible will cover).

Hey Fire,
Good luck with the warranty attempt. Most dealers here only warranty the electrical/electronic P&A for 90 days, but you can't hurt anything by trying.
I think it's the transmitter failing, but you'd have to try your pager with another scooter that works and synch it first to see if it's the pager. MOCO must have had a lot of complaints on failures before changing to a newer system, but yet they still offer the old stock pager system. Go figure. I'd offer to send you my parts to play with, but I already trashed them. So far the new system works fine, but haven't had the time to really measure the range much farther than outside a motel room and such.  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]
