I am in the process of changing my heated grips for the 4th time and decided after the suggestions from the site to go with Heat Demons. I started to order them from Jim along with the Wild One Chubbys 575 but decided that changing the handlebars out was a little too detailed job for me. I decided to call the dealer and get a price.
Well the dealer knows I have had trouble with my grips they replaced them last fall (they melted inside the handlebars) so when I called Jen she said let me see what I can do for you. When she called me back her installed price for the handlebars AND grips was $895. She said since the grips were being changed and the price of the heated grips from Harley(the ones that don't work

) are $200 more than the Heat Demons that she could defer the cost for about a $400 savings.
So I asked if they only changed the grips to Heat Demons what would that cost she said
the dealership would owe me money
almost $200 of course this would be a store credit.
Well I went outside and lowered/pulled my original handlebars back about an inch and that seems to solve the handlebar problem. My reach now seems good so with the additional savings for grip replacement I am getting some new rubber -Metzler 880's and IDS installed and I am only going to be out of pocket for 1 hour labor on the tires and IDS.

I don't know what Moco's policy on heated grip replacement is - the dealer has changed my grips the last 3 times but if you are having trouble with your heated grips it would be well worth asking the dealer what the cost would be to change to Heat Demons - and the best part is the Heat Demons are coverd for the next 4 1/2 years under my extended warranty!

I REALLY WANT GIVE A BIG THANKS TO JIM (hd-dude) HE HAS HELPED ME OUT ALOT WITH IMPROVEMENTS THAT I HAVE MADE TO MY BIKE. HIS CUSTOMER SERVICE IS EXCELLENT AND HE HAS NEVER MADE ME FEEL ANY LESS FOR ASKING EVEN THE SIMPLEST OF QUESTIONS

After lowering my handlebars I have really noticed the vibration coming through. I always felt vibration - I understand the 09's do not have this -but since I have lowered the handlbars it is more prominent. Is there anyway to reduce this vibration? I have checked to make sure I have tightened the handlebar clamp bolts and they are secure. Maybe the change in angle increases this
