Anyone know if the Heat Demons will fit inside Wild 1 575 bars?

I have read where they won't fit with the TBW. Something about drilling the inside diameter of the bars out to .875. I got a response from Symtec about this issue... here it is.

Hi Bossman,

I looked up the W057 bar on the internet. I did establish that this is a "Chubby Bar" but what I couldn't get was the ID of the handle bar.  From the model of your bike I believe you had an electronic throttle.  As both the electronic throttle and the heater must fit in the same area the ID must be a minimum of 0.875".  Also the length of the bar is greater than the length of  the wire on the heater.  You will have to add on some wire for the right hand heater.

The Model Number of the kit for your bike is: 210045CETCHUB.  This will get you chrome switch and case which is machined out for the Chubby bar. This switch mounts on the clutch side.

Thanks,
Roger

Yes, got them in mine and very happy. Much better than the HD heated grips.

Did not know Symtec offered a switch unique to the Chubby bars.  Probably didn't when I needed them anyway.  But would have saved a lot of time with a Dremel doing body and fender work to the switch housing.

If you have TBW system you will need at least 7/8" inside diameter to fit the TBW and the Heat Demon Heater inside the bar. So just take the bars to a machine shop and have them honed out to 7/8" all the way to the internal wiring hole. Or if you are if you like adventure you can take a 1/2 drill and a 7/8" bit and drill them yourself but it is a terrible job but I manage to do it. I love the Heat Demons on my 09 FLTRSE3.

Yes... my CUSE4 has TBW and this is what I was afraid I'd run into.

I have a set of adjustable hones here but the issue is holding the bars while honing them without marking them up. I suspect a 1/2 drill motor would make a big mess out of this job since they have so much torque.

Machine shops around here are far and few between. The good old days of souping up a muscle car kept them open. Now a days people buy the re-manned stuff since it is so readily available.

What was the ID of the bars before you drilled them out to 7/8?
