It's not ideal to be crouching by the side of the road with my mini screwdriver taking the pannier off to get access to the fuses.
Agreed. But at least you need not to worry to get home. Anyway, did you make any changes to the indicators (like I have different bulbs in them) or to the rear light (like have had it changed to LED), or the horn (like I have it changed to the premium air horn), or the passing light (no, no change for me there)??  Maybe something went awry during installation of any of those, or similar, goodies?

Not sure if its the same on the 09 but on the 07's there are two four pin connects one for accessories one of the heated seat I think. I have a few probs initially with my 07 because the dealer mixed the two connectors up

That's interesting,  I'll mention it to the dealer.

Easy to test: Does your heated seat only work when you activate the ACC switch as well? If yes, than it is wired to the wrong connector. Both are under the seat in the general area of the battery. One is switched through the ACC switch, the other is not. Having said that, the mix-up has not been occurring on the '09's to my knowledge.

No, it works with the ignition - gets quite hot though even on the low setting.

Just got off the phone to the dealer.

He tells me he found the problem - rear brake harness had moved and a connector had chaffed against the rear mudguard.  So I hope that's the answer - seems a few of you guys have had the same problem so I'm suprised he took 5 weeks to find the problem

Thanks for your help and advice.
