Disappointed after trip
« on: June 21, 2009, 08:23:26 AM »

Just got back from an 1800 mile trip. I am disappointed I did not have all the problems I read about on this forum. It was hot for much of the trip. I worried the oil was going to boil out of the crankcase. That didn't happen. I was worried the front tire was going to cup. That didn't happen. I was worried my saddlebags would fall off. That didn't happen. I was worried my wife would complain about the engine heat. That didn't happen as well. If you knew my wife you would find that one very hard to believe. Maybe it needs to be OVER 100 before that will happen. These things plus many others I expected to happen ruined my trip. As I was traveling the awesome roads of northwest Arkansas I couldn't even enjoy myself all I could think of was when will one of these problems occur. I love drama and problems. If you believe anything you just read, other than the roads being awesome, then call me at 936-555-1234, I found some awesome ocean view property in Arkansas I will sell at a reasonable price. I need a $5000 non-refundable cash deposit before I can tell you where to find it. T.

Just did about 3,000 in N. Car. and Tenn. and it was pretty hot some of the time and a little chilly some of the time. Only problem was the tire cupping a little but it stuck like glue in the twisties. Oil was fine, temp. was fine, ran like a raped ape and the wife had a ball too.

I 'spect that just like the real world we hear more about the bad than the good. I'm digging the hell out of my ride and she's a keeper.  :2vrolijk_21:

LOL!   That's part of the reason I haven't really posted on here....  didn't want to jinx myself.   I've had my SERG going on 4 weeks, I'm at 1600 miles, and not a single complaint.   8)

There not complaints...they are adjustments... a group of riders dedicated to the best Harley ever produced. Just some some fine tuning. It,s mechanical you know... and built by humans...... :drink:

No heat issues yet in germany , ( it is not really a hot summer ) and i believe that there won`t be any at the SERG . The main thing is that the red oil pressure lamp will stay off and i do not believe that it will become red with our temperatures . Front tire at 9k km changed , but on the earlier bike it was the same ( or with less km on it ) .
Seat replaced by a HD signature - solved .
shocks changed by dealer`s warranty- solved .
Great riding with this awesome scooter , I love it .

Just completed 6,710 mi. trip, I had no problems, I have bumped compression to 10.5, roller rocker arms , 575 cams, SE push rods, but I also run two ten core jaggs coolers.
