Don't know if I can put up links, but google "bitchin-guard" and the site will come up.  These new style guards are way better than what has been on the market.

One post shilling offering a product.  Usually I make the girls buy me dinner first 8) .

Found the website.  Personal tastes are of course personal.  But I'm not a fan.  Too obtrusive for such a simple task.  Looks out of place and unnecessarily large.  Like it's trying to show off for its own sake rather than be there for what it needs to do.

The old "heel guard" that's been on the market for years does a perfectly satisfactory job of keeping your shoes off the pipes.  But it does so without you hardly even seeing it.  Blends in nicely.

Yeah, I think you are right about the personal opinion.  Some shots of the product make it look big and some shots make it look like it fits the bike.  The shot of the guard that a customer sent in looks pretty good.  I did look at the bent rod design and you do not notice it much on the bike, but I didn't think a lot of having to drill into my floorboards.  I'm sure some people don't mind, but I figured since that steel is not too thick it wouldn't take much rust to loosen up the guard and as I am sure you have experienced one time or the other, if you penetrate the chrome, the steel underneath is going to rust.  I have a flame design guard on my bike and I like that it matches the paint scheme and all the other flame covers and stuff.

That image of yours is a much better looking perspectice than the image I saw on the product website.  Can also understand someone's unwillingness to drill a couple holes in the footboard for the other type.  I never worried too much since it's all hidden and the little product works so well.  But everyone has their own tastes on such things.  Good luck with your products.

Where did you get your flame guard at?

You guys must wear really fat boots, I've never had any rubber melt there.

In case you're wondering, they are size ten... and no, I don't own a pair of stilettos!  :huepfenjump3:

I don't see a boot guard for the PASSENGER that would work with the CVO SE passenger boards.

I think these might because they attach to the point where the floorboard bracket attaches to the frame, vice the floorboard itself... :nixweiss:

I usually just tell the passengers to keep off the pipes!  Works every time...

You've never had my BSR ride with you... :o  As many times as I tell her, she manages to rub her boot against the pipes when we ride.

One would think Rinehart would have designed the heat shield with either:
a) a secondary heat shield in the area of the left side passenger board, and/or
b) insulating material in the area of the left side passenger board.

I have a devoted passenger who understands the need to keep the shoe or boot off the heat shield but over hundreds of miles, stuff happens and I get the job of trying to remove the burnt-on crud.  I've been tempted to wrap the pipe under the heat shield with insulating wrap.  I got a boot shield from Boot Dr but it's for a standard Ultra board and does not work with the CVO chrome passenger boards.
