Just got back from meeting with the Rep...I dont have an answer, and in my opinion, it didnt go very well. I butted heads with him from the moment he said I put scratches on it using a virgin micro fibre rag.........even though the old lids dont really have 2% of the amount of scratches on them as the new lower bag right next to it, nor are they anywhere near as deep ....and I've been microfibre-ing those lids for 11 months now. I think I know where this is going to go.......
I'll hear from MoCo he said, with their decision. I'm, not going to say anymore here, Im going to give this guy the benefit of the doubt, I will let you all know what the outcome is, I requested Autumm haze parts to be sent next time, or a complete set of tins that I can have painted myself, or my least favorite choice, send the correct color, but better quaility. Which I dont think will happen.
I will when the decision is made, 'Quote' this post here and finish the details of this day and some of the things that were said or 'discussed' btw....dont't believe everything you read on the internet.......this was one of the topics discussed regarding the rest of you with bad paint that I have heard of or met personally.....learn something new everyday.
OK, Got my answer from MoCo and John Selensky today, and I said I'd quote this post when I did, what I wanted to say about this day with the rep that I left out hopeing that it would not interfere with his decision making....The rep was a total f**king d$$k to me, on first look at the bike, he said that I must of put the scratches in the paint with a micro fibre rag, he was rude, and combative, he got in my face when I brought up the fact that he was the same Rep who shot down the original set of parts at Drons, he said he was well aware of that fact and asked if I was going to stop with the atitude so he could do his inspection, , I leaned down got even closer right back in his face, and said I didnt appreciate how un-profesional he was acting , and are YOU going to stop sir?. He stomped away telling the service manager to plull the bike inside, turned and asked me if I wanted him to not do this this inspection?. I told him him to do whatever he felt he had too, that I'll just call wisconsin again if he didnt want to do his job, just like the first time. we are all walking into the shop and he tells me like he is my father telling his son who just giot caught for shop lifting or smoking weed...."he goes, YOU. stay out THERe!! ", no worries I said, so i staed outside...he then looked at ,me standing there, and said to someone clsoe the door on him . Most uncalled for, like I said, a total un-profesional representive of a company. He instagated the situation, and was trying to make me look bad to the workers there, by challenging me face to face like that, big man, Im not a small guy, he is, I bet he thinks he made himself looked like a badas is all I can think. And yes, hes was lucky that I did not push him away from me , or pop him in the nose by the line he crossed. I know when I am being baited. so anyway, after inspection, he came out, we both apoligized for earlier 'problems'....me feeling like a f in kissass, but what can I do. He fully admited that he got some pictures of the problems. so I asked him, so you se what I am talking about then?, he said "oh yes" so i made sure he looked again at the fairing and the flake issue, he said I got that, and then pointed out the primer spots bleeding thru the and the unpainted edge on the fairing", he said "oh, good thing you pointed these out to me", and then more pics. He said, that he would send his report to MoCo, and his findings, he said thet I would hear from them as it is THEIR decision.....we shook hands and he left. I had the feeling that even though he and I had a personality clash from the minute we met, and the friction was obvious and mutual, that with what he said, and THE OBVIOUS problems with the paint, all would be well eventually here, but in the back of my mind.......
Now lets get to the phone call today from John Selensky. John said that Vern the rep, should have told me right then and there, as it is totally his call on the paint, so he asummed I already knew. Verns decision was ...that I put the sanding scratches in the paint with a rag. Also, John said, I accepted the parts before they went on the bike, even though I didnt see but 3 of them, and the fairing box was only opened and the the paper and bubble wrap was only pulled back enough to expose only a small area of it. So Vern's decision is, No new parts will be replaced on this bike period. So I asked John, ok, lets assume I wiped down the bike with my micro fibre rag, and did actually scratch the new parts....what about the mising crimson flakes in the fairing and Fender?, what about the primer bleed thru, the un-painted edge on the fairing?, the blochy spots of flake on the tank like the spray gun got clogged and then unclogged itself causing it to spit out a bunch of flake on one spot?, did my micro fibre rag do this too??. What about the fact that the old Lids and the old inner fairing, back fender , dont have any visable to the naked eye scratces like this on them even though they have been on the bike for 11 months in my care??? All John could say was I would not be geting any more new parts and that decision is final.
I feel so frickin takin, the rep is a flat out liar, he lies to the customer str8 faced, and Im pretty sure since he had major attitude, and I went over his head one time to get his decision overturned, this is truelly personal. San Ramon HD has been great, I feel like they cant get in the middle of this, I cant really say what they think here. But unless they are lieing to me also, The parts dont look acceptable to them either in my opinion, but the rep is the one who get s to make the call.
