Those new emblems are going to look real nice on my garage wall....I dont like em
When I picked up the bike there was kind of a small crowd gathered around it looking at the tank. Several liked the look including the service manager. It does have a certain appeal but the wife likes it better with them so guess what.....  ;) [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

How long did you have to wait for your tank???  I have been waiting for months now for my gas tank, front fender and one lower saddle bag.  Dealer has front fairing, side covers & one lower bag, waiting on the balance.

It's been about 3 1/2 months since I first got a reference number. I'm still waiting on one bag, the outer fairing and the emblems. I must say, the fender, tank and the one bag look really good. Hope you get everything soon......

When they opened the boxes they found two left saddle bags and a tank without any emblems. So, how's it been working for those of you who have gotten new parts, did your tank come with new emblems or did they have to remove the old ones to install on the new tank? Dealer was not happy at all with the MoCo and is trying to get it all resolved. They also agreed with me that [highlight]the outer fairing paint is bad [/highlight]and did order that today.

Greg,

When you said the outer fairing paint was bad, did you mean it was the same milky color as the original problem? The reason I ask is, all my parts are in but I haven't looked at them yet. I'm planning to take the bike in Thursday but it sounds like I better have a good look at everything beforehand.

That's correct, the same milky look problem. I would say the fairling looks the best of all of my milky parts though but it still has that milky look. I really didn't want to have one piece that still didn't look right and the dealer agreed. Good luck on your parts, the new ones look great!

Aha! I just figured out, you never ordered a new outer fairing with the other parts. I thought you meant you received a new one and it was still a bad paint job. Thats a relief to know it hasn't been replaced yet. Sounds like they're taking care of you. I'm sure it'll all look awesome in the end. My dealer's been great as well. They've never hesitated to take care of me. Same with the area rep.

Sorry about that, I did make it sound that way. That's correct, the outer fairing wasn't ordered with the other parts. HD pushed back a bit on it then but after seeing some of the good parts I just couldn't stand to have one piece left that was milky. Apparently HD agreed this time.  [smiley=banana.gif]

Keep us posted on your parts as they get installed. They do look great!  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Hey Guys,   Just wanted to let you know the paint problems are back on the 07's also.  [smiley=soapbox.gif]  I have a new R/B FLHTUSE2 and I am going to press and have bothe saddle bags and fron fender replace. My left rear bag , back end, has sags in the paint .. almost runs. Most other issues are bad orange peel. I have notified the dealer, but have not gotten back to him yet.

Sorry to hear you are having issues with your paint on a 07. Looks like quality control would have gotten it right by now with all the 06 problems. Don't get in any hurry getting it fixed It took me and a lot of other guys on this forum countless calls to our dealers the MOCO and letters to the CEO. I still don't have new paint on my bike and this has been going on since December for me. At least the parts are on order and the MOCO has steped up to fix the problem, but at one time I was wondering if it would be fixed or not. Hope you don't get the response "thats the way its supposed ot look".

Makes you wonder if this was the reason for the delays??? [smiley=nixweiss.gif] If I remember correctly one of the reasons was "vendor" related.
