[smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]Well, it looks like all the parts are in from H-D and I am scheduled to get them swapped starting on Thursday.  [smiley=jalapeno.gif]  I will keep you posted but we are making progress!!!!  All the parts with graphics are being swapped.  Front fender, front fairing, gas tank, side pod covers and saddle bag lowers.  I can't wait to see it completed!

Thanks to all on this site for their continued support and advice over the past year.  I don't think we would have ever gotten this fixed without pressure from this group of owners.

My clear coat is coming off my '04 FLHTCSE Orange & Black farring after coming back from Sturgis. Anyone know if Harley will cover this under warranty?

Is it the outer or inner fairing?  Is it in numerous places on localized to one area?  It's probably out of the initial 2 year warrenty, isn't it?  Did it just begin or was there earlier indications that something was wrong?  All of these questions will probably determine whether or not you've even got a shot at it.  My guess-ti-mate would be: probably not.  But, I don't know for sure.  Guess it couldn't hurt to ask at the local dealership.  Good luck and let us hear what happened.  spyder

If this is peeling in the area of the screws for windshield (on the front/orange part)... probably will not be covered under warranty. MoCo will probably say that screws were over tightened. >:( Good thing is if this is the problem you are having it stays localized and can be covered by one of the chrome windshield molding pieces.

It is peeling on the Orange outer shell on the lower left behind one of the driving lights. I think it started from a rock chip and is now the size of an orange.

The dealership Owner put it in his garage for a year and never registered it. I bought it in June of 2005 and it only had 50 miles. They considered it new, so I hope it's not out of the initial 2 year warrenty.

Let us know the outcome......but, from what you're saying.....that it may have started from external damage, I doubt if any warrenty would stand behind that......best get it to a good painter and have them fix it before the color gets damaged.  [smiley=nervous.gif] jmho.  spyder

Post a form letter in here for us all to copy and paste into a letter that we send to Rusty.  I'd be more than happy to do it on your behalf.  This is ridiculous!!!!

Form letter?  How about this?

Dear Sir or Madame:

Several of us have been patiently awaiting or watching your response to the paint issue on the 06 Screamin Eagle Electra Glides.  For some this has been an issue now ongoing for a full year.  While we appreciate your attempts to solve this problem we just wonder if all of your customer service attempts are done with the same alacrity as very old people screwing?

Sincerely,
Another CVO Rider

They replace mine under warranty for the same problem.

[smiley=soapbox.gif] Looks like I spoke too soon.  They opened the boxes today to replace the paint and according to the dealer "It is as bad as before, can't tell a difference"

This SUCKS.   [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

That does suck they probably sent you someone's that has already been replaced hoping you wouldn't know any difference. I am going to be checking mine very close. Thanks for the info.

Well after all was proceeding along well, the HD Rep looked at my bike yesterday with the new bags and REFUSED to provide the rest of the striped parts!   >:(  I am pizzed to say the least!!

Now the back half of the bike looks great and the front looks like...er, you know what I'm talking about.  Guess its back to square one with customer care.

After all the other guys have got their parts and more coming, I was really shocked at this.  HD and me have some serious discussions ahead... [smiley=argue.gif]

Is he/she blind or stupid? [smiley=nixweiss.gif] Can't they see the obvious difference, and the fact that they already replaced some parts for the very same reason seems to me they have no other choice but to replace the rest of the bad parts. Good luck pursuing this further.
