I took the bike in today to Macon Harley-Davidson for the new paint to be installed.  I saw the new fairing and it looked great.  Deep rich almost black in color.  It seems they have used several fewer coats of clear because you can now feel the graphics in the finish where before they were smooth.  I will let you know how it looks when I get it back later this week.

Bill S.

Well I got a call from Macon H-D and they are not happy with the gas tank.  Just like the other.  They have escalated to the factory to get a new tank.  I will post the answer when I hear back.  :-/

I'm still waiting for some pieces that we are putting on when we do the swap and the dealer closed this week for inventory.

Maybe next week.

I got a call from the dealer last week , he said my bag lid was in, told him I would be in after the holidays to have it put on. being a lid I don't expect any cloudyness the reason for the new lid was paint flaking. will keep everyone informed on how it turns out.... happy new year to all!!!!!!!!!!! Think HD is closed till the 2nd of January.  But it was a sunny day so I cruised out to the dealer to look at the paint.  It looked good lots of red flake in the paint clear coat was actually clear but 3 pieces had small rub marks on them, they will wax them and see what they look like. so far so good.

No change in my status since my last report.  The only striped parts that have come in so far are the tank and one side cover.  I've seen them and compared them to my one good saddlebag.  They look good.  Will wait for the rest of the parts to come in before I decide to accept any of the parts.  I'm not in any hurry..........just so it gets done and gets done right.

I have no doubt that they know now how to make good ones, I have seen many of them, all on end of year bikes and newly replaced parts.  It seems they are coming across with the goods and only time stands between us and satisfaction. 8-)

Mine is in the shop for cams and such so I will get them to replace the tank before I pick it up.  Still waiting for front fender and fairing.  My last two milk dud parts! [smiley=mango.gif]

Waiting on round 3 for mine   >:(
Round 1, dealer ordered wrong parts...  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]
Round 2, received correct faring, wrong tank & saddle bags
...still waiting on correct tank & bags, only got to look at the fairing real quick in shop lighting, still have to get a good look out in the sunlight.  While the dealer is stretching my patience (this has been going on since March 2006), since I'm still able to ride (when bike's not in storage) haven't made too much of a scene at the dealer, yet...

I wouldn't guess you would be doing much riding in the shade of that ski hill this time of year!  Its why I moved to North Carolina!   [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

[smiley=huepfenlol2.gif] Got a call from the dealer just after I posted above.  Was going there anyway to drop off my Zippers goodies but THE REST OF MY PARTS WERE IN!!! [smiley=mango.gif]

I checked them out and they are PERFECT!!  NO MORE MILK DUD PARTS AFTER FRIDAY.  They are going to have the cams in, parts changed out and Dyno tuned by Friday.  [smiley=jalapeno.gif] I feel like a kid in a candy store!

I am drinking a deep swill of the Harley Kool Aid!  [smiley=drink.gif]

If the 575 cams give me what I think they will I will truly be in Hog-Heaven.

All this waiting and bitching was well worth it.

Thanks for all the encouragement guys! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Congrats on all of your painted parts showing up, and being installed. [smiley=2vrolijk_21.gif]

In regards to the 575 Cams I think you will be pleased w/the scooter when you get it back. Just remember either to take your backrest w/you when you pick it up, or hold on tight when you twist the throttle. [smiley=vrolijk27.gif] [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]
