Just returned from the dealer.

Inspected the new tins and they are great.  They actually found one very minor issue right on the edge of the outer fairing.  Most likely rub out but if not they already offered to order another one while explaining what they found.

Sure lookds good to me, I'll hold final judgement until we get it into natural bright light.

For now I'd say we're looking good. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Mine just came in too...

Front Fender- Autumn Haze Fender (oops) [smiley=nixweiss.gif] Right Number on the Box though....
Fairnig- Great- Lots of Crimson in the Black<- We'll keep it
Tank- (essentially) NO Crimson in the Black....We'll replace it....

Bags were done previously and look great....

Still waiting....

New Paint Parts Report:
The new process looks great!! The black candy crimson is beautiful... no more milky color. I took some photos but they don't do it justice.
I did reject 2 parts...
The front fender had a spot on the lower left edge about an inch long and 1/8 inch wide that was missing the charcoal gray paint. All that was there was primer. A shame too because the rest of the fender was flawless.
The right saddlebag had a section of paint where it had been taped off but the tape wasn't tight and it bled under the tape in 3 places. It was on the inboard side but I rejected it because I would always know it was there and I wanted it right.
The dealer will reorder and hold the rest of the parts till new good ones arrive.
I spent an hour looking at the parts. It's important to really look closely and take your time. I would recommend if possible that you bring someone with you with a eye for detail when you go to look at your new painted parts.

Guys...I just thought I would add a little advice.  When you get your new tins take as many pics as you can. I still believe somehow the paint goes milky over time. I had all my tins replaced in October and it looked great sun or shade. A few week ago I had it out in the sun and the front fairing and one bag lower looked milky compaired to the rest. So I am now back in the system with a new ref# trying to get something done. They told me that Harley might have a time limit on how long I had to complain about the new tins...and I said it took eight months for Harley to get my new tins and that time line was fine with me...I didnt get any smiles...and I thought it was funny.

So here I am back on this thread again wishing I had close up photos of the new tins so I could prove that they werent like that in October. I will update as I find out more.

Good calls on this SE.  I was thinking about asking Terry to meet me at Rider's HD when all my parts arrive, so I can get an objective eye on the situation.  I'm pretty picky..........sometimes too much, but then I am human and start with the "well, is it really jacked up?"  Anyway, I hope they get your parts to pass your review and soon.  At least they're doing something.

Yeah, and here is another thing that just worries the chit out of me.  I've only heard of this happening to those of us with melons.  Do any BCC/CS folks have this fading over time challenge?  You can bet the Bagger will be there with camera at port arms ready to get to snappin' when all my parts arrive.
