I am really trying to have a little faith in MoCo here, One would think that they would contact those of us who have warranty reference #'s direct and let us know whats up. Still have not heard back from anyone regarding My area Rep who said that they are changing the color of the lower bags and inner fairing to the brown milk color. That would certainly be a cop-out, and then the MoCo could say they tried to fix the problem. I will not settle for A Brown Crimson bike. I want the Black one thats advertised in the brochure I read. I offered a swap out of the Haze color for me, or Correct matching Black parts.

I hope the CEO found his way to this site and this thread, and if you are reading this Mr. Ziemer, Please do the right thing here, remember, "The customer is always right", but more importantly "The Customer who buys your best product at a premium price....is always right no matter what".

That being said, Mr. Ziemer, I heard you own a Haze '06....ask yourself, would you settle for less than we are asking for?
Right ON [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] I have a ref#(first week of Feb) and have heard nothing >:( How hard is it to say "we will fix this"?

My dealer told me the same thing that something may be in the works for a fix in around 30-60 days. So I guess for now I'll wait and see what happens, but like a lot of you said it would be nice if the MOCO gave us a call and told us face to phone what is going on and what they are going to do about it.....

The one thing that scares me is that they are treating this as a person to person complaint so if you don't ask you don't get.  The paint is BAD. The bikes are under WARRANTY. Fix the problem end of story. Most of us, or all the people I know that buys a bike, are wanting to get away from the stress and hassel of everyday life and does not need to fight with the  MOCO company with a WARRANTY problem.  That to me makes what little time I have for ridding not fun any more.

I received the slimmed down version of the parts catalog in the mail yesterday (new parts mainly) and was noticing that in the paint shop portion there are some touring options.  Looking at the pictures I see that there are flames on the lower portion of the bags and the lids are black.  I was wondering if anyone has seen these in person to see if they have the same issue as we do.  Of course the pictures look perfect like our pictures did.

A quote from the 1st page of the new Harley-Davidson 2006 Accessories and Parts Spring Supplement Catalog...

"It's all in the details.  If you want to ride the kind of motorcycle that turns heads, you can't overlook anything.  The impression your bike makes says a lot about you.  And nothing says it bolder than a custom Harley-Davidson motorcycle".

HD missed a few "details" on our bikes.  HD is doing a great job overlooking their customers concerns about a poorly produced product.  Our bikes will turn heads alright...the comments won't be, "WOW, that's a nice bike"  They will be..."What the hell is wrong with the paint, and what kind of company would have the balls to produce such a product, and then not stand behind it"?   [smiley=wall.gif]

Got a call today from the MOCO. They got my letter and had John from customer service call me to let me know they received it. He says it is at top management level now. I asked what the MOCO was going to do about it and he wouldn't say, all he would say is they are aware of the problem and are working on a fix. I told him I am glad they are working on a fix but how long does it take to figure it out? I asked when I could expect to hear from the MOCO about what and when the fix will be. He has been schooled not to say much. He seem as if he wanted to tell me something but wouldn't speculate. I told him I would give just a short time more before I took some action.  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

When I have taken my bike in for any warranty work including ...I always get an invoice that says something like ..."Customer states low oil pressure"...and then when I pick it up, that same statement is on the completed work order along with what was done to correct the problem............now, with that said, I have NOTHING from the dealership or MoCo that says anything about my paint complaint's, which have been many. I have a reference # that I got over the phone form John S. But thats it, so from day one, The dealership has been smart enough not to put anything into written form concerning the paint, Thats called thinking ahead, if it were murder, it would be called 'pre-meditated.

Anyone have anything in writing from anyone thats actually says, A. they have a problem with the paint, and B. They are going to fix it??? Just wondering.

I have an email from moco that says please submit pictures of you paint quality concerns...with the ref#

I also have a copy of the email I sent to them with the pics attatched...for time frame reference.

I also have a word document of a log of each time I went to the shop and who I talked with and what was said.I use names, time, and date.
I log every time I call the moco.

I am trying to get copies of the email from dealer to local rep.
Never seen this local rep.(he is a joke)!!!

My predelivery paper work states the "single colored paint parts and the multi colored painted parts do not match".  And it is signed by the dealer.

Haven't noticed any complaints of new/recent deliveries with bad paint in awhile now.  No new 06 owners or are bikes with proper paint finally being delivered?

Hey twolane was in your town last week and went by the HD dealer, I was sooooo prouder of myself as I made a complete circle around the show room and walked out without buying ANYTHING!!!! Must be getting over the OCD syndrome.  As I was driving off I saw a guy in the back behind a trailer and drove back there to take a closer look to see what he was looking at and it was a black as he was taking delivery of it. Talk to him quite a while, as it was a hazy day I really wanted to look at the paint but did not want to say anything, as this was his NEW SCOOT!  As it turned out he is a member of this site and knew all about the paint issues.

The paint on his black looked, not so bad.  The inter fairing was a little IMO was a little toned down to match the tank and the outer fairing, But like I said it was a very cloudy day and just could not tell a lot about it.  I do think that the paint on his black is BETTER than the paint on mine.  So DJWIMER get off your A$$ and post us some pictures and tell us about your new SCOOT!

Hopefully that will be (sort of) a good sign.  But since it didn't seem perfect and outstanding right out of the box, coupled with the fact that so many seemed to have deteriorated over time, let's just say I'd still be a tad worried.

Well my paint job may finally be worked out.  They tried to "buff" it out and no luck, which I am glad.  No my bags are back at the MOCO.  I have been told 2 weeks... I don't think I should hold my breath.  I'll let you know how long until my scoot is back to it's full glory.

Got a post card from from Customer service operations. They said they got my letter and want me to give them time to research my problem. It says I can expect a answer to my correspondence soon. It even has a real signature on it.  [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]
