Mine came from the dealer with a different code then the 11111. I still need to change to something I want though. I did ride the bike to work today with no problems but it now does a single chirp when I turn the key on. It has never did that before. When I shut down it gives the standard two chirps.

Some dealers do reset the code for their customers.  Those that do normally write the changed code in the applicable page in the owner's manual.

If the "chirp" is activated, it always gives one chirp when the alarm is deactivated (key on) and two chirps when the alarm is activated (key off).  You may not have heard the one chirp before, but there is no option to have it only do the double chirp.

The owner's manual tells how to activate/deactivate the "chirp" for those who want it or not.

All you have to do is wave the fob around the tank console.  It is designed to keep in your pocket and walk away.  I had the same issue.  I left it in the glove box in my garage.  Maybe there is a stupid function so we don't do this.  Have not had a problem since.  I love the new alarm set up!

With the older (push-button key fob) factory security systems, you could replace the security system module with a non-security system module.  One or the other had to be there because it tied into the ECM.

I believe the new system is probably the same way (two different modules) since the security system is not included on every bike HD sells.  Having said that, however, I don't think problems with it as described above are very common.  Any electronic system can have problems, of course, but I wouldn't worry about it overmuch.
