Fastest Bike
« on: July 07, 2009, 12:49:29 PM »

I was wondering how fast people are driving their SERG.  I hit 90 mph the other day and from previous posts I heard of +110 mph.

Don't believe everything you read but see here:  How Fast Will YOUR Eagle Fly 120 MPH 4300 RPM

It's really funny until someone gets hurt.  Then it's hilarious!

He!!, I hit 90 just on the on-ramps to the highway.  Look down and say "oh chit" and have to slow down.  Raced a Dodge Charger R/T the other day.  He got me off the line but I caught up.  Had to shut it down for a corner but I was 4th gear, over 100.  Funny thing, we both shut it down at the same time and of coarse both grinning from ear to ear!

I'd tell the speed when I shift 4th to 5th on the SEEG pumpkin but the speedo only goes to 120... :nixweiss:

Do you have stock gearing?
What RPM are you shifting?
No matter how much power is available gear and rpm limiter control the speed.
You may get there quicker but with stock gearing and stock RPM limits it will only go so fast.

Well I've had the Ultra up to is 105mph. After that aerodynamics, (or lack there of) took over and the bike would not go any more. But the fastest I've been on a motorcycle is 157mph on a Kawasaki ZX-11. I'm guessing it to be 157 because I was NOT scanning gauges. I did see the speedo pass 155 before I backed off.

I typically shift ~5,500 or so.  The pumpkin keeps pulling until the front end gets light.

I found those speeds to be INSANE. The dotted line on the road looks like a solid band. Fences and gates appear to be one long wall, and the wind rush and roar is deafening. Good thing I was young and "invincible" cause doing that again ever makes no sense to me at age 50 something.

i've burried the speedo at 120 several times, and when I say that I mean I was going faster than that, just not sure how fast. My rev limiter has been re-set when I mastertuned, can't really turn them off just move them to the highest rpm. I run a few gears up to 4500 before shifting.
My fav gear is second, the front wheel comes up very nicely.

Speed is interesting, if you go down the interstate. But if
you travel thru mountains like her in switzerland, it's the
punch you need to overtake. That' the reason why I have
changed to the SERG09.

Just recently while wandering up the freeway I let the SERG stretch out a little.  At about 90 something the front started to wobble a tad bit making me back off.  Gonna have to get that checked out....  Otherwise, 90 something felt reeeaaal good  :bananarock:  I'm sure there was plenty left in her.

Mine will ran easily at 180 kph 2 up in stock trim. With stage 1, I've had it just above 200. I think if I leaned on it a bit it has more. Always smooth and straight (feet up, one hand on the bar having a smoke kind of riding). Is it possible the SERG's don't like the higher speeds as much as the SEUC's?
