Classic SERG Updated Front Turn Signals

I always hated the pancake lights on the front of the classic SERGs.  To my eye they are bulky, they look dated and they don't flow with the lines of the bike.  Used the P&A flamed signal housings kit, cannibalized it a bit, used the stock mounting brackets and gaskets from the newer Road Glides and have better looking front lights.  Here's the before:

And here is the after.  Poor light in the garage at night for photography purposes.  But you'll get the idea.  I like the flamed housings in this application a lot.

If anyone with a classic SERG wants to give it a try it's a bit of a jigsaw puzzle to get done.  Not difficult but not at all a bolt on.  I was messing it about three hours from start to finish.

Flamed light kit 69945-08 or 69944-08.  That's a front and rear set you'll cannibalize to get as you need it.  69945 is with smoked lenses.  69944 is with amber.  MSRP is about $150.00.  Often on eBay for less than $100.00.

You'll also need the left and right front turn signal mounting brackets from the newer Road Glides.  Those are 69199-04 and 68933-04 along with a pair of mounting gaskets that are 69283-04.  MSRP for brackets and gaskets about $75.00.  20% gets them home for just over $60.00.

That's it for hard parts.  A half dozen butt connectors or a pair of three pin Deutsch or other connectors and a couple of rubber grommets are the rest of the parts list.  Will try to get better pics in daylight this weekend if anyone is interested.

I thought you guys were messing with me too.  Looked at all the text and couldn't find it.  Almost didn't look at the thread title.  That was at the end of about a 36 hour string.  So I'll take Good Howie's rationale.  I was a zombie :drink: .
