Not much of a deal IMHO.  At a time when real interest rates are hovering near zero, 3.9% is an insult.  Auto folks are offering anything from zero to 2.9% for 60 months on top of customer cash back, and the local banks and credit unions are offering 4.9% to anyone who is still breathing (unlike the situation over the past 10 years, now they actually check).

If they decide to get really serious, they'll cut the BS and start discounting off MSRP.  As much as that goes against everything the greedy SOB's at the dealerships and the factory believe in, big cash discounts do work.  It's mind numbing to watch them resist for so long while losing money every month on floorplan interest and fixed costs.

And if the MOCO does start discounting below MSRP you guys will cry because it will seriously affect your re sale value and you all know your bike is worth more. Saw a brand new 08 SEUC  Silver/White in Bangor Maine on the floor at $35,495, and a 09 SERG O/BG on consignment with 97 miles on the Odometer

Not even a little bit.  Even when resale on bikes was stupidly high I never bought a (discretionary purchase like a) with any interest in resale.  But it because it's the one you like.  Period.  As for market values I'd prefer they be realistic rather than inflated no matter what it is that's being sold.

Got the same deal from HD dealer in Scottsdale.  Must be a national campaign.  Assume that deep discounts will be next followed by employee pricing programs.  (ala the car companies)

Maybe H-D can get their lobbyists to have their motorcycles included in the "Cash for Clunker's" program.  Folks could trade in those barely running, pollution belching old cars for $4500 toward a nice shiny new Harley.  That would just about make the Harley's price competitive with the competition.  Then they would just have to make them competitive on the quality side and .................................................................................................  umm, never mind.

Are you serious?  Anyone who bought a CVO bike as an "investment" should have their head examined.  Its a toy!
