Added the quick detach kit and relocated the amp into the saddlebag

That sure does look sweet that way.  I just can't seem to deal with the idea of losing storage, additional rear lights, rear speakers, the amp, and the big backrest for my passenger.  If I could put it ALL back on in a few minutes, I'd go for it, but it looks like I'd be permanently giving up some of the things that were reasons to buy the Ultra in the first place.  It sure is a bright outlook for what the 2010 SESG should look like though.

Probably won't be as pretty as that!

It's definitely a bit of a compromise.  I relocated the amp in the saddlebag so I have respectable sound even with only two speakers but you definitely lose some storage.  For running around locally, I'm going to keep it this way and when I go on a decent length trip, I'll convert it back to full Ultra mode. It's about an hour process to change it over (tour pack, electrical connections, seat brace, seat, windshield) which might be a pain if you had to do it too often but it's nice having the option.

had FLHRCI's for years - first thing when back from a long ride was always to get rid of tourpack, windshield, big saddle and so on. Easier to clean, easier to ride and much better looks  ;D

Didn't even think of ordering the FLHTCUSE4 without the detatchable racks. Only bad news: will have to wait 8 weeks for a decent solo-seat  :-[
