You know, if any of you want to find out before you leave on a trip, you can always just pull the back wheel and look at the numbers in the wheel.  Check one of the posts above but I believe that if it has an R1 or R2 in the number, then it needs to be replaced.  The odds are very low that any one bike will have a bad wheel but I'm sure you don't want to ride to Sturgis or anywhere else not knowing.
I'm leaving on a trip too and the dealer couldn't get me in soon enough so I took the wheel off and took it to him and they checked it and I put it back on.  A little more work but now I can ride without worrying about that.  You could check it yourself also or at a tire dealer-at least that way you'd know for sure.  This won't get it fixed any sooner but you'd know where you stand.

I had my recall wheel looked at today by my dealer Adventure Harley. I do not have one of the 125 suspect wheels. However I was told by service dept. that if I had one, they would take a wheel off one of the  bikes they had on the floor to keep me riding.  Adventure was great during the buying experience. It's also great to know they are still tacking care of me after I signed on the dotted line.  :orange:  Now where are the 125 wheels that are suspected to be bad?

Man, that's a good dealer---better than most. Where are they located?

Doug, does that dealership own a telephone?  Or heaven forbid, an internet connection?  If they do, they need to get off that BS and contact their rep at the MoCo for the information.  You can bet they would be a lot more proactive if the MoCo was holding a pile of their money hostage, or if the dealer was riding one of the affected vehicles to Sturgis.  Blowing off customers is obviously a hard habit for many of these stealers to break, but I suggest they start learning how to treat customers right.  The days of just sitting back while people throw money at them appear to be over; they may just have to learn how to run a business properly if they want to survive.

My bike is on the list and the dealer has checked the wheel. No R1 or R2. Mine has an M1 number. They didn't wait on anyone for anything. They knew the problem and jumped on it. Now waiting on what is apparently the third generation seat that is supposed to ship in the next week or so..............

Mancuso HD does and always has gotten the job done for me. Great to have a good service department (manager) backing you up.

Guys, as I understand it, every SERG is on the recall list, but that doesn't mean you have a bad wheel.  It is sad the VAST difference between dealers on this (or any) safety recall issue.  You would think after the last few earnings reports that MoCo would begin to weed out useless service departments and dealers.  Maybe some day soon they will.

Ride safe, and look for us in Sturgis by Monday July 27, good Lord willin' and the creek don't rise.

Called my dealer in Annapolis on Friday and they told me to bring it in that day.  When I got there they could not print out the recall.  They could see it in the system but it would not let them print it out.  The SM came out and explained that it was not in the system yet but he knew about it.  He said they could keep my bike and check it first thing Saturday morning but if I needed the replacement he could not get it until after the 20th.  Luckily I got the call Saturday morning that my wheel was fine.  And to top it off, my bike was cleaned and waiting for me when I got there (I had gotten caught in a little rain on the way in).  Some dealers still know how to treat customers.  Now if more would just catch on!

Hello Jerry,
As amatter of fact we do have phones. Oh yeah! We have internet service, that would be the same internet service I personaly showed Doug. But wait there is more. It's a web site you can't get on because your not a dealer. Can you tell me what to do with this wheel if it was bad? Or wait can you tell me anything but the Bull S@*t you feed people on this web site. What certifications do you have as a professional H-D mech? For your info. I showed Doug what There was for the fix. Ask him what H-d recommended to at this point other than to inspect the wheels & tell you not to ride your vehicle. Why your asking Doug thes questions you know all the answers too. PLease ask him how he has been treated. I think you will be surprised. You ever stop to think that people treat people the we you treat them. Maybe your just an *ss & thats why your are treated that way.

I just got back from my dealer (Brians HD). Even though I did not buy my bike there I get amazingly good service. I called last week and brought her in today.  I was in and out within 90 minutes.  I highly recommend their service department which is headed by Brett.  Mine too had a M1, no R1 or R2.

Thanks.  Once in a while we get in that area---to visit Amish stuff, so I'll make it a point to stop in there.  I've got Amish all around me here but "we" have to go over there to see Amish stuff ???  Actually the ones here haven't been here long enough to have all the furniture stores, etc. that they have in that area.
