Times are changing
« on: July 17, 2009, 11:53:06 PM »

The prices are holdin steady at 30K... they seem plentiful thou. We have one on the dealer floor, 2 more coming and I see 7 on e-bay. I spose the 10's will be the wild card... and big HD cutbacks...Dealer say's trade in values dropped 1/3...Mine is a keeper regardless. any comments?  :drink:

Hopefully with cutbacks, our bikes will not be a dime a dozen.  Need to get back to the way things used to be.  However, I did steal mine for 25k brand new.  I dont think I will ever get hurt.  Not that I ever plan on getting rid of it anyway.

He told you - he stole it. Must have left the $25K out of guilt.

Not many left at the Dallas area dealers that I've seen, Dallas HD sold their last one last week.  HD North TX has only 1 left I believe and they still won't sell below MSRP.  Can't believe someone stole one for $25k!  Heard last week that MoCo is not using RG frame for water-cooled in 2011 or 2012 so ours just might be last of the breed.  But, I'm sure that will change 20 times before the decision is final, and then it will change again.  Don't believe they'll be dime a dozen any time soon though.

If Obama & the boys up in D.C. continue to print $$$$$ that are backed by nothing, to take care of those who have not & don't want to work, you are going to see a lot more  bikes on ebay.

25k with a 100 dollar HD gift card.  They only had the O/B, but I wanted silver so they trade another dealer a red SG for it.  Someone on here asked, and I gave them the dealer info as they still had the O/B on on the floor.  I had another dealer down to 26k too for an O/B.  Of course I went with the best deal.  Took some work, and about 6 dealers going back and forth, but well worth it.  I did the same thing in 06 to get my RK Custom for 16k

There is a Silver on at Barbs HD here in NJ, and O/B at Salem County HD in NJ, and an O/B at Hannums in PA.  Hannum's, then Salem are the best to deal with in that order.  I do not get it with some of these prices.  I am guessing on the west coast, the dealers are less likely to move much as the bikes are in demand all year round.

But when politics effect our ability to own our motorcycles it must be allowed. Your feelings didn't get hurt did they? T.
