Long time HD rider (carb) new CVO owner...
« on: July 18, 2009, 06:07:28 PM »

I've been riding Harley's for 25 years, all big twin soft tails. I'm old school, my last scoot was a '94 FSXTC customized to within an inch of it's life, nothing stock except the block, I even had an Atlas frame so I could put a 180 tire on (big thing 15 years ago  ;D ).

My scoot got ripped off, the $52,000 in receipts were only good for a $24,000 payout by my insurance company. I just bought a new 2009 Springer CVO, I need to get used to all the "new" chit and especially the EFI.

I need more "pop" in the bike, should I do a search or can I get some basic recommendations for you? I guess cams (they're double overhead now I guess), recommendations on heads? Are new pipes worth it? I appreciate any suggestions, I won't be doing my own wrenching on this scoot, I'll leave it to Harley.

Welcome aboard from Minnesota! Glad you've joined the fun. You'll get plenty of solid advice here. It will cost you and save you money at the same time. There are a lot of Springer owners here and they seem to be a very happy lot. Enjoy the new ride.

Hi Marty, I was just in Simi visiting my sister off Madera Rd. a few hours ago. I looked for a Harley dealer on Los Angeles Ave. on the way out but couldn't find it. My email is listed if you wanna shoot me a line about your services.

Thanks,  Ron
