High speed, new frame.
« on: July 20, 2009, 10:14:01 AM »

Took the '09 up to 110 over the weekend.  If not for the traffic (and fear of a ticket), 120 would have been a piece of cake -- without doubt.  Steady as a rock!  :2vrolijk_21:

I had the '05 RG up there on more than one occasion, and there's no comparison.  Where the '05 (with rear stabilizer) began to feel just a bit floaty, the '09 felt completely stable.

Any other speed demons with stories to tell?

117 mph locked in recall on my Zumo GPS.  Speedo was reading 124. I have since recalibrated it the TTS software.

Still got my ass handed to me by that Mustang!

after new crankshaft and recall, my bike went last week for the final dynorun (Big shot duals, breatherkit and racetuner). Yesterday I tested it on the road without a windscreen and my speedometer told me 205 km/h it is around 126 miles an hour.

I've hit the 115 mark, as best as I can recall, and it's very smooth.

A little over a Hundred a couple of times and very smooooooth. It was all part of the break-in process. Now that it's got 2500 miles I might crank her up. The problem is the June Bugs. Little bugs I can handle but those june bugs are made of concrete at a hundy

Just an FYI, max speeds reported on a GPS may not always be accurate.  They can burp out a higher than real speed because of the math they do to generate a speed report.  Can happen if there's a quick loss of signal between two points or for a variety of other reasons.

If the report seens seems reasonable it probably is.  If it's enough to make you think "hmmm, did I really go that fast; you probably didn't."

This is the best I can do. Speedo says 103. My Passenger shot this pic going through the Virgin Gorge in Utah. Or is that North Nevada? Close to Saint George anyways.
Oil presure looks good. Oil temp 240, perfect.

Hows this one?
I slowed down to 90 for the corner. Hey, this was my wobbily 07. Didn't feel safe at a 100 in the corner passing cars, riding 2 up fully loaded. Lol..
The 117 MPH was on my 09.

On my dyno at 100 MPH drum speed, my speedo reads 106, or 6% fast. This is normal for all 09s. At 124 indicated on the highway, my GPS read, 117. Same 6% error. I think its safe to say my GPS was hitting the mark that day.

It's the State of Arizona. I was ticketed, multi citations (4 speeding, unsafe lane change, reckless endangerment, failing to stop for police officer last two were dropped by the Majestrate) on that same stretch last spring to the tune of  $1852.00.
