Spooled up the Springer last weekend, had her just under 120 about 117 I'd say and a robin flew up and hit directly under the headlight on my front springs. It literally blew up,I had Bone, blood, feathers and guts all over my face tanks oil tank Juggs and I still hav,nt found all the parts yet.. Oh ya in true trooper form, and all that adrenalin pumping I dug real deeep and kept her up for another mile and a half and took her into the gray zone between 120 and infinity. Real stable and pulled hard even at the end!! No rpm's MOCO got cheap on the 09's!!!!!!

170mph and climbing before i backed off.....on my yzf1000. I dont think i would want to do anything over 100 on the ultra, just too big and tankerous to really have full control....not that i really had full control of the other bike at 160+

Worked an accident in late 2005 young man was riding a crotch rocket at over 100mph when he hit the rear end of the dump truck, I think, now I don't know for sure but his last words on this earth were probably OH SHEET!!!! When that truck pulled out and no it was not the truck driver's fault. Excessive speed. His brains were in his ball cap about 30 yards back from impact.

Ah yeah...i dont deny it might have not been the smartest thing i have ever done, however i do know certain places and times to do such things. Now with that said i also know plenty of people who have had some serious downs, me being one of them, obviously it wasnt as nearly tradegic as the one you describe. On top of this it seems about a year ago i started to loose my edge to ride hard and fast and now second guess everything fearing the fatal consequinces....funny that it all started right after i turned 40.

Bottom line though anything after 80mph has the potential to be fatal.

While I'm a pretty agressive rider myself, you should know the "potential to be fatal" is a whole lot less than 80 mph. :nervous:

after new crankshaft and recall, my bike went last week for the final dynorun (Big shot duals, breatherkit and racetuner). Yesterday I tested it on the road without a windscreen and my speedometer told me 205 km/h it is around 126 miles an hour.

With or with out the little munchkins on back.....
