suggestions for new pipes?
« on: July 21, 2009, 03:49:04 AM »

Hi Guys,
I would love some suggestions for pipes on a 09 CVO Softtail Springer, i want to lose the stock pipes and get somthing a lot meatier sounding.
I just dont want to hurt the performance of the motor doing so, the Reps at harley recommend slip-ons but im not sure that will give me what i want.
thanks for the help in advance guys!

i am not sure i like the 2 into 1 pipe, the 2 into 2 big radius by V&H looks nice, does anyone have a 09 springer softail with these?
if so how are they?

I'm having the same dilemma as you. I like the looks of the 2-2 Big Radius pipes but everyone tells me they are a performance let down.

I'm now looking into Bub 7 slip ons.

What have you done? My local dealership told me that Cycle Shacks are good but I have run the Bub 7 idea past him yet.

It all depends on what your priorities are.  Personally, I like the V&H Pro Pipe BP, looks good, sounds good, and I don't think you can beat the 2 into 1 for performance.  V&H part no. is 17541 - Fits 86-10 Softail. ($625.17 MSRP).  Should be able to get these on e-Bay considerably cheaper.

They look cool but can cause that performance decrease you mentioned.

On my 07 custom softail I installed the V&H 2 into1 Big Radius!

Every where it went guys would comment on loving the pipe! I highly reccomend it!
