Bob, with the new product releases with tomorrow's dealer meeting the pool boy has advised there will be a:

Screamin' Eagletm Cruise Control Max Speed Release Kit

Comes from an OE called "Wo Nelly" and is intended for:

"Riders who prefer the option of setting the cruise option while
traveling on the high side of 100 mph so as to rest hands and
                       shoulders at higher speeds."

The kit is $2400.35 and, seemingly oddly, includes a certificate to cover dental fees.  Total package is an ECM download to remove the top end limit, a halter to attach to the handlebars and the aforementioned dentist's installation of a bit for your teeth to grip the halter.

But Chip's (apparently) retarded...he could have stayed with you indefinitely as long as a bed and food were within reach!

Somethings wrong [or right ] with my bike. I can set cruise at 100 mph. No tis not too fast, and I just rest my hand on the grip.

WOW!
Talk about being threadjacked...............................

There are a few replacement ECM's(Thundermax etc) that offer no high speed cruise control cutout function.
On the '07 and down years you could wire in a speedo recalibration unit, adjust it's output and send that signal to the cruise module.

I have not looked at how the DBW bikes are wired but I have heard this option is not possible.

Blame the Feds is my guess..

I rented a BMW 1200 RT earlier this year. Seems to me I was gliding down the highway at 100 MPH with the cruise set, sipping an expresso. 100 MPH on my Harley and it is all hands on deck, white knuckles and all.

Same on automobiles as well.  Sort of makes one wonder if there isn't some nefarious regulation involved.

Jerry

Set it on my Benz at 131 a few times.  Throttle by wire car, governed top speed at 131, but definitely able to set the cruise.

The cruise control on my 08 SE Ultra will not lock in at anything over 90 mph.
Thanks,

Bob

You should not be driving that fast or if you do you should not have the cruise set.  ;)   :2vrolijk_21:

I can not argue with those who say don't drive 90 MPH.  It was just a suprising thing that I could not set the cruise at 90, but could at 89.  I wondered if it was just my particular bike or if other CVO bikes were like that too.  Now I know.

Thanks for all the interesting comments.  I enjoyed them.

I want to one those ECM download dental coverage kits for my bike.
This way I can use both hands to text my girlfriend and call my wife at the same time while checking e-mail on my "CrackBerry".
