Looking for baffle insulation
« on: July 24, 2009, 05:49:54 PM »

The 07 CVO mufflers I bought for the Fullsac 1.75" baffle install only had insulation in one muffler.  They were new takeoffs at the dealer.
I can find fiberglass packing material at a local motorcycle shop but in doing a search, Dartman and Sixgun spoke of ceramic kiln packing on Ebay but I can't find it listed on there today.

Is the ceramic packing on Ebay that good and long lasting???

Any suggestions appreciated.  Thanks

Many thanks for this ebay packing.

Is it common for only 1 muffler to have packing on a 07 cat muffler??  They were new takeoffs.

Also, should I insulate both mufflers with the same material even though the one muffler material is good?

Again, thanks.

Its not common, but I have seen a number of take offs that the insulation would slide right out, I would only wrap the muffler that needs it

Greatly appreciate your input.  Seemed odd to me also, mufflers weren't used long enough to be burnt out.  The 09 mufflers had better insulation to me.

Nah Dave, it was just that ridiculous reverse flow baffle.  You should see the baffles removed from the 07 mufflers, had the cat's in the front of the baffle (inside the muffler).
