Had a call from the dealer a few minutes ago with a status update on the bike.
1. Loss of power/zero throttle response: While cruising just outside Laramie, bike dropped out of cruise and engine RPM dropped to idle.
Tech working on bike said the DT was leading him to replace the ECM and the Induction Module. Tech had an issue on a recent bike very similar. Found some loose wires or pins in the 6-pin connector to the induction module. Problem fixed. My bike happened after almost 25K miles...other bike occurred at 1200 miles. No cause cited.
2. Clutch not fully disengaging at startup This happened once in the morning (of the problem day) when not in neutral starting the bike. It also happened once on the side of the road. Caused an error code per the Laramie shop.
Dealer claims clutch was adjusted-I thought the Hydro clutch did not have an adjustment.
3. New problem found by tech test ride - Comp sprocket VERY worn.
I am thinking this is what I thought was a clutch problem. Dealer questioned if trailer could have contributed. Part on order but the guy could not tell me if it was the new version I saw recently posted. Awaiting part.
Once that is done, the bike will be Dyno-tuned as I had them add the SE intake, SERT and Monster Ovals - so I will no longer be stock since it obviously did not matter. I still broke down on a western GTG, just like in 07 on the way to Nelson and in 08 at Sedona. I decided the need for more power and better tuning after pinging too much out west with the stock lean bike.
