Chris - beautiful looking ride, at least. Sorry you had problems with the handling. Not sure if you FLHTCUSE folks follow the SEEG posts, but this handling thing has reared its head much too often, so perhaps it's not as untypical as we might think. Darrell in Canada, MrsWe, myself and many others have all experienced varying stability problems ranging from a nagging minor oscillation to flat out tank slapper. The Ride Str8 and a switch to Metzeler 880s helped me, but did not totally cure my problem. The fact that the dealer took your bike back with no hesistation leads me to believe the MOCO is more than merely aware of this inherent design problem. Geez, companies like Ride Str8 are making money because they identified a manufacturing problem and an opportunity to cash in on it. The point is, the people who should know probably do know there's a problem (earth to Milwaukee! come in please). I understand that there is at least one lawsuit stemming from a motor cop who lost control of his EGlide at high speed. I guess for the MOCO to say "yes, there's a problem" would concede defeat in court. Meanwhile, riders like us, some of whom (self included) are less skillful riders than a guy who rides for a living, continue to run the risk, however slight, of losing control every time we mount up. I know I'm painting a dismal picture, but...this situation really blows! The difficulty is every bike's handling characteristics seems to be different. Some of us feel the wobble at 60 mph and others at 80. We're of all different sizes and shapes so those variables make diagnosis even more difficult. We all want to enjoy our bikes to the fullest so we (not the MOCO) bust our butts and spend our $$$ trying to fix something on a bike that never should have been crated up and sent out from York. It's frustrating. Within a couple of years, I suspect a new chassis design will emerge. Until then, it just seems a shame that some of us are stuck with bikes we can't trust at the worst possible time - high speed. Product loyalty is one thing and I'm sure most of us ride what we ride because we like the idea of stradling american iron, but do Goldwing and BMW riders put up with this crap?! Chris, I feel bad for you because it's a d@#n shame your bike wasn't all you wanted it to be from day one. We all know the feeling of picking up a new bike. It's one of the true pleasures in life. Your experience was really tarnished and now you're left to get on a bike that was maybe your second choice. I tip my hat you because of you're loyalty to the HD brand. Is it going to take guys like you getting a refund and walking across the street to Honda Heaven to get the MOCO to open their eyes? Wish I hadn't gotten myself fired up at 2 a.m. - PJ
