Our Weekend
« on: August 02, 2009, 09:05:59 PM »

This one actually started last weekend, and was completed yesterday.  Rode the Green Bike into a 35K mile service last Saturday.  Performed the service when I got home.  Washed the bike last Sunday, and spent part of the evenings during the past week working on the finer points of detailing.  Finished up yesterday morning...........and figured I'd take a picture.  So here's a picture of the Ditch Pickle, all dressed up with nowhere to go, and the Purple Bike......not quite as tidy, but still awful nice.
Renea and I hopped on the Purple Bike and went for a "Ride Through the Country" shortly after I finished with Ol' Thump.  Just short of a hundred miles......."been all around the world, seen all 50 states, ate off thousand dollar china, but love some paper plates".........anyway..........was a normal day here in Alabama yesterday.  We don't call it Alabama the Beautiful for no other reason!   :2vrolijk_21:

We been thinkin' 'bout gettin' a dog door for the CVO Boxers.  Did that today.  First we went to Hardees and got us some "Catheads" and gravy.  Then we went to Home Depot.  Anyone who has been to our shack knows our back door is (was) basically plate glass..........not very conducive to dog doors, so had to buy a new door.  Got it home, hung, had the hole cut, and the dog door installed in about 2 hours.  Now Renea and I are tryin' to figger out how to get the CVO Boxers to understand that we just did them a huge favor.....well.....OK.......us too, since we don't (shouldn't) have to get out of bed at 3am to let them out to pee anymore.  Springer gets it, but little Evo is scared of it.  She'll hop through, but only after being bribed with a treat.

Few months ago, scored me a spare tank for the Green Bike off eBay for $300.  This weekend, Renea found a great place to put it.  Hopefully it will never move again, but it is there if I ever need it.

Not sure why the two pear trees in our front yard are so drastically different in size.  Here's the healthy one's trunk.

Here's the sickly one's trunk.  Couple months ago, started shooting 17-17-17 straight to the roots through a pipe followed by lots of water.  Appears to be working.  Moved the pipe to the other side of the tree this weekend and added more triple 17 and water.  Hopefully this tree will take off next spring.  Certainly has greened it up thus far though.

Looks like whoever planted it when they were finishing up building our house might have injured the trunk.  Hmmmmmm.

You'll note in the first picture there is a refrigerator in the back of the ton truck.  Well, last week was the end of the summer term for Stef, so she had to move out of the dorm (did that Thursday and Friday nights)..........which means one of our guest rooms is now cluttered with her stuff.............and so is my garage...........with that fridge..........which used to be in the garage before anyway, but now it is just in the way.

Stef must have had it too cold at one point.  Evidently a Coke exploded inside.  When I tipped it to get it off the truck, I got covered in Coke syrup.  Spent some time cleaning up that mess this weekend.

She moves back into the dorm in two weeks..........then we get two of our guest rooms back.   :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2:

Here's the fridge.....sorta cleaned up........better than it was anyway.

Cluttered guest room.

Next term.......she's a sophmore.  Pretty good for having endured 2 brain surgeries within four months of each other during her freshman year.  We're mighty doggone proud of that young lady..........and it is good to have her home for awhile.......despite the college clutter.  She is doing so well.  Renea and I both agree that even though the university is only 20 miles from here, living in the dorm has done a world of good for Stef.  Not really looking forward to moving all that stuff again tho'.

Finally, here's a shot of the bikes as they sit in the garage right now.  Yeah, the green one is covered.  It's gonna sit for awhile.  Need to ride the purple one.....alot.

I can only assume the other guest room is painted to match the "Ditch Pickel?"

Be careful, don't burst my bubble!

Thanks Chip.  I learned that in the Army.  Spare parts make me sleep well at night.   :2vrolijk_21:

The remaining guest room is Stef's room for the time being.  Chip........you just gave me a wicked idea for a winter project.   :huepfenlol2: :huepfenjump3: :huepfenlol2: :huepfenjump3: :huepfenlol2:
